Saw this game somewhere but never played it. I'm impressed I guessed correctly before the T-Rex/Velociraptor or whatever it is on the cover.

Every game in the Souls series from Demon's Souls to Elden Ring is well well worth playing period. Don't skip anything.

Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal

Don't pass up on Demon's Souls. The combat and mechanics may not be as smooth as its successors but the atmosphere and lore is just sensational. Demon's Souls also feels a lot more RPG than anything else in the series until Elden Ring. The NPC quests, the many many secrets (because of an in-game mechanic called World Tendency which changes the structure of the World depending on your alignment) add to the RPG-feel of the game which makes the game have a very unique charm.

Banjo-Kazooie is not terrible. It is the best 3D Platformer on the N64 but it had no business beating one of the best games of all time.

There have been some really wacky results in this tournament so far.

Suikoden V is really really good. Probably the most underrated (and underplayed) JRPG I've played.

I accepted that it was a fitting swan song for the series (what with Konami being dead as a video game company) but another mainline Suikoden game would be a dream come true.

The other titles are admittedly not good either but they don't sound like something you would download from the app store. I was never confused by Awakening and Fates. This had me actively scratching my head despite me being fully aware that the next mainline FE title was already done with development.

I would have assumed it was a spin-off title if I hadn't already known the next mainline FE game was already done and Nintendo was just waiting for the right time to release it. Even then, I was like "Wait what, really? THIS is the next mainline game???

The blame doesn't only lie with the title though. The trailer, the concept and the presentation kept making me think it was either a mobile game or a multiplayer spin-off title and the actual mainline title was gonna come up in the next trailer.

I don't know how this game is gonna turn out because 3H did not look good initially in its trailers and ended up being my favorite game in the series.

The title though is absolute horse shit. It could have been literally any other poorly named title (Genealogy lol) and even then it still wouldn't come close to sniffing "Engage". No wonder so many people are confused whether this is a mainline game or a spin-off title.

The trailer is also not good and has left a really bad impression on me. And after coming off 3H, I was really hyped for the next game. Now the reviews are gonna be the deciding factor for me whether the game is worth my time or not. 3H ended up being great, so I hope the best for this one as well. The title though.... Yeeesh.

Really good game and one of the defining JRPGs of its era. The story certainly isn't the reason why though. The class system and the world building are the best aspects of the game. Really good ending as well for the Erdrick/Loto trilogy.

Guessed entirely by luck. Tried Sly Cooper and Sly 4 for the first two tries and I was completely stumped afterwards until the last image which I saw somewhere back then.

I just want Persona 3 to have a definitive edition where exploration is exactly like FES and the systems are ironed out like Portable. But those hopes were quickly dashed by P3P being announced on the modern systems.

Like honestly, how hard can this be? They have released Golden and Royal within a few years from the original with the latter having an insane amount of new content added. Why can't something which will require lesser effort be done for P3?

I can barely remember anything about the story even though I played the game extensively back then. That's a good indicator of a story being bland.

Done with level X Gem grinding. That was fucking terrible. Guess I'm finally done with the game.

Edit: Not touching upgrading the Soul Hacker skills with a ten-foot pole.

Amazing game. Solid recommend for JRPG fans but yeah don't do the grindy stuff unless you actively enjoy them. That is coming from someone who plays his game with a completionist mindset.

I would like to say what story?

I have already made my grievances known with this game. Absolutely the worst mainline Dragon Quest by quite a sizable margin.

Did we really need two Splatoon games on the same system. I thought the next time we'd get a Splatoon game would be on the next Nintendo console.

What does this game do that Splatoon 2 already don't?

Oh and Xenoblade 3 has the best side quests I have played in a video game. I can safely say it has dethroned The Witcher 3 in that regard for me.

Since we're ranking the games

1 > 3 > 2 > X

And I love X a lot. It had the weakest story and characters of course but the scope of its open-world still hasn't been matched by anything and I doubt any game will for a while. Flying around in a Skell is just amazing. That said, I think the other games are just better. Xenoblade 2 is an awesome game but with some major flaws. The highs far far outweigh the lows. I wouldn't say 3 is close to 1 because Xenoblade 1 is literally a Top 10 game for me but it is without a doubt the 2nd best game in this excellent series. Chapter 5 of Xenoblade 3 is possibly the highest point of the series. Nothing has evoked that much emotion from me while playing the game from a JRPG in quite a while.

Ok story really is not what makes the DOOM games but they do have some interesting lore. Eternal is so fucking fun to play though. Such an improvement over the original.
