I also agree that chores and allowance shouldn't be connected. Because some week your kid is gonna decide that not getting $7 is worth not doing chores and I can't imagine you as a parent would be cool with that

If your goal is money management then it needs to be a small enough amount that they need to save to get things they want but big enough that the saving process doesn't take so long that the whole thing feels pointless.

A seven year old probably doesn't want too many really expensive things. But like if he typically wants 15-20 dollar toys then something like $5-7 bucks is reasonable. It will take three weeks of dedicated saving to get there. Gradually increase it as he ages because he should also build up the patience and money management skills to save up for an buy more expensive things.

The man is a machine. Admittedly he doesn't have the world's greatest prose and maybe part of that is due to his process of writing a 20 pages a day, but he gets shit done and it is never at the cost of story quality or worldbuilding.

Quick background: NBC is airing a one hour 30 Rock special tonight that also serves as NBC's upfront presentation since Covid canceled the traditional upfronts. 30 Rock is one of my favorite shows of all time and I'm love following the TV industry so the chance to see an upfront, which are otherwise never publicly released, is a double whammy of greatness.

Apparently however my local NBC affiliate is not going to carry it because they say it is promoting NBC's new streaming service, Peakcock, and that is ultimately bad for them. As if streaming hasn't been a thing for 14 years now and a service called Peacock will be the death blow that ends broadcast TV.

So now I'm having to write a strongly worded letter of disappointment to our affiliate. It won't do anything, but it will make me feel better. Because fuck them.

Somewhere in the realm of $120-180 for utilities, mostly because KC Water is a fucking scam.
Property tax is escrow'd - looks to be about $1200.

Flyover states are cheap, unless you want to be "downtown" for some reason.

One of my friends is moving from an apartment from Westport to downtown and I just don't get it. Why do that to yourself?

My dad is much much more well off than me. If he has got himself in a financial situation that had the potential to ruin him, the money needed to fix it is something I don't have.

But obviously I'm not letting him and my mom go homeless. I'll put them up in an apartment and make sure they have what they need. I just don't have the means to save the house.

No this was like a ancestor from the 1700s. They just thought it would be a fun thing to do for a family reunion.

I personally think it is good that the family found out our ancestors had slaves. Obviously it is not the fault or blame of anyone alive but pretending that your ancestory is all clean does a service to no one.

I think Boba Fett is weird to bring in. Besides being dead, he also has minimal ties to Mandalore beyond wearing the armor.

While in a concentration camp Erik demonstrated his powers. Hydra took him for for study and to see if they could brainwash and weaponize him. They kept him in suspended animation like they did Bucky. Towards the end of the war an Ally attack caused the Nazis/Hydra to retreat and abandon the secret facility and Erik was left in suspended animation until the year 2000 when a younger Charles Xavier was touring through Europe and trying to understand his powers. He detects Erik's thoughts and rescues him they spend then next decade and a half doing mutant stuff before some incident radicalizes Erik, now calling himself Magento. By 2020 Xavier had formed the X-Men and Magneto the Brotherhood of Mutants.

You can adjust the hibernation period to get whatever ideal age you want the characters for the movies.

I'm actually kinda surprised he mostly ducked the scandal with his ex-wife a couple years back.

That said I don't have an issue with using a double for when an actor is not comfortable with a scene so long as the double is, but obviously threatening to end her career over it is very bad.

Buffy/Angel are some of my favorite shows ever but Whedon definitely seems like one of those dudes who likes to wear his feminist credentials as a shield against his own suspect behavior.
