I don't think he did either. I think he said a lot more this time about the girl coming with him etc. I think it works a lot better for this audience though, teasing what he really is and saying out loud that Arya wants to kill everyone.

Honestly I don't think Tarlokk has been very well done at all. His "scheming" has been so obvious and Tenzin's "oooh i don't trust you" hasn't made Tenzin seem like a wise old that sees whats really going on, his lack of effectiveness to do anything about it only makes him look like an idiot. Every council meeting has been Tarlokk being "oh how about this?" with Tenzin going "Noooo that's no good even though I'm not going to give good reasons why!" and then everyone agrees with Tarlokk.


The fight was decent though.

You are talking about when he's walking up to her while her vision is going blurry and he moves his hands up and down? It kind of looks like he's doing the motion of putting a glove on, but I assure you, he has absolutely nothing in his hands

It is kind of dark so maybe if your picture quality is a bit bad it looks like a glove, but he is definitely bare handed.

Uh, Tarlokk has absolutely nothing on his hands at that time. He seems to be wringing them or perhaps performing some kind of blood bending form, but he is completely bare handed. He definitely does not have an equalist glove or anything.

Anyone else playing witch doctor? I haven't read how other people are playing d3 besides this thread. I have a feeling nobody is using poison dart-splinters but I couldn't live without it or any of these I'm using:

1-Grasp of the dead (unbreakable grasp)
2-Soul harvest (swallow your soul)
3-Gargantuan (humongoid)
4-Spirit walk (honored guest)

L-Poison Dart (splinters)
R-Firebats (death is life)

jungle fortitude
spiritual attunement
spirit vessel


Poison Darts - Splinters is practically the only competitive build in inferno. I use it, though it kinda sucks it gets blocked by stuff and you can't necessarily hit the mob you are trying to target if others get in teh way.


How far are you? Your build is pretty damn standard. 80% slow is incredible, and you can't live without Spirit Walk, it's your "oh **** im about to die get out of jail free" card. Soul Harvest is considered standard in most builds because it can give so much int, and heal you decently if you hit a few mobs. I've stopped using it in Inferno though, makes me play too close to the mobs and they just one shot me. You can use Spirit Walk to run up, Soul Harvest 5 mobs, and run out without getting hit, but I don't like to put that on cooldown and not have it up when I need it to dodge a mortar or something.

Gargantuan is amazing up until later hell where he starts to go down pretty fast, and Inferno he just gets one shot by everything and is unfortunately a waste of a skill. I really wish he'd be usable in Inferno, I love that guy.

Firebats is meh. Along with Zombie Charger - Bears it's possibly the most damage per second ability a witch doctor has, but it requires you to be so close to enemies I don't like it in Inferno. It also burns mana like crazy so you can only use it for a few seconds unless you have Vision Quest, which I'm not too big of a fan of.


Your passives are pretty good. Jungle Fortitude is just soo good, I can't see myself ever dropping it unless I give up on vitality and resists completely and don't even try to be tough enough to survive stuff (which may end up happening in later Inferno). Spirit Vessel is a great Cheat Death ability and makes Spirit Walk have a slightly shorter cooldown which is nice. The mana from Spiritual Attunement can be nice, I dunno if it'll make that much of a difference with Firebats but I suppose if you aren't using Vision Quest that's the best way to extend your mana's life. Personally, I prefer to always have Jungle Fortitude and Spirit Vessel, and then use either Fetish Sycophants to make little guys to tank for you constantly while you spam Poison Darts, or Pierce the Veil to significantly increase the damage of Poison Darts. Or perhaps Bad Medicine to nerf everythings damage.


As far as abilities go, with group play I ALWAYS have Big Bad Voodoo with Slam Dance rune, you drop that **** down in the middle of your group and everything melts. I don't use it too much by myself because I have to kite a lot more, so I use Hex to turn my enemies into chickens and easier to control. I also love using Fetish Army. Long cooldown, but even if the little guys get one shot it takes awhile for them to all die, so they tank my enemies for me pretty nicely. Much more useful than Gargantuan because the Gargantuan only tanks one hit, these guys tank many.

Bit of a discussion. It's not really spoilerish, but I'd understand if you simply don't like having discussions with people who've seen the whole series and thus don't want to hear things from this perspective, so I'll black it out and you can read if you like.


They always say vampires can't care about another being. Angel actually says that a lot, and you'd think he'd know; being a vampire. But it's mostly because Angelus and Darla weren't capable of love. I don't think that's the case with all vampires though.


I think the chip/soul thing you've brought up is kind of an interesting comparison, but I wouldn't say same difference. Angel's soul makes him regret and be horrified of killing, and thus causes him to not kill anyone anymore. It's a fundamental change to his personality that caused him to stop killing. With Spike, the chip prevents him from killing. It doesn't change his desire to kill everybody. You might recall a scene in season 4 where he's living in Xander's basement and gets annoyed, and tries to bash Xanders skull in from behind with a wrench. He still wants to do those things, but he can't. The result is the same, both stopped killing, but only one started with a shift in his personality to cause that.

But it may work the other way. Now that Spike can't kill everybody, he's spending time with them and being sort of "domesticated". Getting used to these people and, especially in the case of Buffy, starting to care about them. So Angel began caring about people and thus stopped killing, whereas Spike had to stop killing people and, through spending time with people, started caring about them. It's in reverse!


I think it's an interesting comparison.

This seems pretty dumb since nobody is level 60 in Nightmare. If it kicked in when you hit hell mode (or even when you hit level 60) I think that would be reasonable.


Point is, they don't expect or want people to farm bosses while levelling. They also don't want people just straight up killing the bosses, they want you to have to hunt around for elite packs to kill first. Hence the idea of Nephalems Valor and why it doesn't kick in until 60.

If you've seen the round table discussion with the cast and joss whedon about the Avengers.... Samuel L. Jackson would definitely support this.


But yeah, Marvel sold the rights to make movies of the X Men and Fantastic Four to Fox, and Spider Man to Sony. They used the money from these deals to pay for the whole Avengers shebang starting with Iron Man.

They don't have the rights forever; if they stop making movies about those characters the license will expire. That's actually the reason Sony is making that new Spider Man movie; if they don't do it by 2013 the license will revert to Marvel. And you know Marvel would jump all over that.

The idea of a split screen minecraft game or meeting up to play together just baffles me.


My friends and I have a server together that we all play on... but like Zachnorn said, its up for weeks at a time as we expand whatever it is we are building. Honestly, the interactiveness of Minecraft multiplayer isn't so much "playing together" as it is being like "hey come look at this awesome thing I just made over here."

It's a sand box game that I spend hours and hours creating in. It's good if you guys are enjoying the 360 version but I honestly do not know how Minecraft the way I play it could translate to that medium.

Malthael, the archangel of wisdom, will likely be a villain.


An archangel doesn't get depressed and disappear for a long time and not show up to fight you later. Plus he's probably in Pandemonium right now. You know how the black soulstone fell from the High Heavens as Diablo disintegrated in the final cinematic? Most people think this means the soulstone fell to Sanctuary, because heaven is usually depicted above the world. However, Sanctuary isn't physically below the High Heavens, otherwise it wouldn't have been hidden so long after Inarius and Lillith created it. What IS physically below it are the Burning Hells, and the realm of Pandemonium between them. So Malthael will probably find the black soulstone in Pandemonium.

Have any of you actually read the Book of Cain? It's a very good book with a lot of interesting backstory and illustrations. The notes from Cain to Leah are very good and they really built up the game well.


I was actually really hyped for the game and the story with how well that book turned out. Can't believe the storytelling in that book was so good and it ended up falling so flat in the game >_>

Honestly, I don't really get people who say this. Leah, through the first act and the Book of Cain, has been built up to be the successor to Deckard Cain. The fact that she died so quickly without a whimper with people saying her soul was consumed or whatever is absolutely ridiculous when she was built up to be a lasting character for the series. Why build up a niece of Cain's that he trained and taught... only for her to disappear? I think it's stupid they killed her and I'm actually worried they won't bring her back.

And yeah, I don't think killing Cain was that big of a deal, he's so old that no way could he potentially be around for a Diablo 4 down the road or anything. But that was the point of Leah. She was continuing his work. But her being gone.... completely ruins that and now killing Cain sucks.

Adria and Diablo planned this 20 years ago, after the events of Diablo 1 and before the events of Diablo 2. Leah is the daughter of Adria and Prince Aidan. Aidan was the warrior who slew Diablo



Diablo had possessed the body of Prince Albrecht, son of King Leoric, the Skeleton King, and Prince Aidan's younger brother. Aidan returned to Tristram to find it corrupted by Diablo and Skeleton King, so he killed everything. You see in that video that Aidan removed the soulstone and Diablo's body returned to that of Albrecht's, and he implanted the soulstone in himself. Whether it's because he was being influenced by whispers from the soulstone or because he thought he could contain Diablo within himself, I'm not sure. But within days of him doing so, Diablo took control of his body and he became the Dark Wanderer of Diablo 2.

Before he destroyed Tristram and moved on, he spent some time with Adria, who was the witch merchant in Diablo 1. She wasn't originally from Tristram; she had come there with the purpose of finding Diablo. Adria already knew of the black soulstone and together they planned the current events. The Dark Wanderer impregnated Adria with Leah.


So it's not just Diablo being the dominant one in the soulstone. Leah had a part of his essence, being literally the daughter of Diablo. That's why she had so much power and why she became the host.to the Prime Evil. And that's why it was Diablo in control.


Leah dying the way she did was still a terrible plot device though.

The lengths you people are going to to go say "yep, its' blizz's fault, I knew it all along" without having a ****ing clue is just getting ridiculous.

There are three kinds of authenticators. The mobile authenticator that you get on your smart phone that is completely free, the keychain authenticator that you pay $6.50 for, and the dial in SMS authenticator where you call a toll free number that automatically generates you a number to log in with for free. The last one only works for WoW and has been stated by Blizzard many times. That's what the topic was originally about, a guy getting hacked with an authenticator that isn't even designed to use with Diablo 3.

Of course, even having a mobile or key fob authenticator isn't 100% secure. But that topic doesn't say "the authenticator doesn't work." It says a handful of WoW players over the years have been compromised with it. Of course they have. This exact same stuff has been going on for years in WoW. What you people don't seem to understand is that there are hundreds if not thousands of chinese gold farmers aggressively trying to obtain your password. They are using all kinds of methods to obtain it. Blizzard has put a lot of effort into trying to help players secure their accounts, but they can't make sure you are keeping your computer virus free. I can't believe that article actually says "oh, Blizzard says don't download strange stuff or you can't play diablo 3, what a corrupt company." If you download some malicious program, you sure as hell can't do anything like log into a bank account without risking it being compromised.

People don't seem to realize that a Diablo 3 (or WoW) account actually is worth money to those gold farmers, which is why they want into your accounts so badly. Don't be dumb, just get the authenticator or you deserve what happens to you. 99.9% of the time it will deter hacking attempts that would have otherwise succeeded.

Tons of people will pointlessly accuse people of attention whoring for making just any old topic too, such as Sbell attacking Punny for his life stories etc. This probably makes people not wanna talk about their **** as much.

The auction house makes obtaining the exact items you want sooo much easier than in Diablo 2. In D2, if you could even find somebody with the items you wanted, you'd have to have something they wanted as well. This could take some time and be quite frustrating. Now, it's as simple as searching for whatever you want and getting it instantly.


But prices are pretty crazy so you can't get everything right away. You gotta be a bit clever about it and get what you want within a budget.


Farming typically won't get you exactly what you want, but it'll get you awesome things that OTHER people will want. So you put that up on the auction house rather than having it rot in your stash or on a mule like it would on D2. Then you buy the gear you want with the money you get. It's like trading a barbarian item for that witch doctor item you want, just with a couple steps in between.


As someone working through Inferno, I have to say this system has worked out very well.

A lot of the nightmare crafting stuff uses them for recipes. If you don't actually plan to use crafting for your alts, then sell them I guess. I'd hold onto them for the future though.

I hate what it does to playstyle though. Get 4 long cooldown abilities and just press them as soon as they are off cooldown to keep up your mana regen for bears / bats. Gargantuan summon came up when it would be best to wait another 20 seconds to summon a new one? Doesn't matter, press it now. Big Bad Voodoo off cooldown and now isn't the best time for it? Either press it now or not be able to dps at all.

It feels like you have to sacrifice playing intelligently with your other abilities to gain the ability to just spam a super move in melee range. So boring. Plus being in melee range you just get **** on.

Oh yeah, I forgot that changing skills loses the buff. Man is that kinda annoying. Sometimes I run into a pack of elites that are so difficult but would be so much easier if I had just one different skill. >:|

Nah. it persists through death. Only way for it to expire is to leave the game, finish the act, or for its 30 minute duration to run out before you kill another elite/ champion pack to refresh it.

You actually can't reset the zone to get different mobs once you get to 60, which is when you deal with the most difficult combinations anyways. Well, you can, but you really don't want to. Whenever you kill an elite or group of champions at level 60, you get a stack of Nephalems Valor, which gives you 15% magic and gold find. Stacks up to 5. You lose it if you leave the game, so you really don't want to do that.

Blizzard employee admits this guys account was hacked by someone in China. The post then edited out China to put the blame on the player.


Uhh, everyone knows the hackers are chinese, they always have been. They are chinese gold farmers. Instead of actually farming gold they hack players, steal all their stuff, and sell it to other players. That's what they do. They've been doing it for years and it's 100% expected for them to do it in Diablo 3 players too. It's just not a good idea for the company to outright say "the chinese did it".

Not sure what you are talking about "putting blame on the player" for.

People always seem to have trouble figuring out Glory and Ben in these watch through topics, so I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. I'm pretty sure you are supposed to already "get" it >_>

Do you really not understand that you speculating on a theory is much different to show watchers than show watchers speculating amongst themselves?

Let's make a spoiler free example.


Jaime is the one that pushes Bran out of the window at the end of season 1 episode 1. Let's say that his involvement wasn't actually revealed in the episode. But hints are given that Jaime and Cersei were involved (Catelyn finding the golden hair up there etc). Show watchers speculate that it was Jaime that did it. That's fun discussion. A book reader comes in and also agrees that Jaime probably did it. Even if this isn't revealed in the books yet, the show watchers are going to be annoyed. What extra knowledge does the book reader have to say this? Is it actually revealed that Jaime did do it, or are there more hints that strongly indicate it later on? Maybe there's two competing theories amongst the show watchers. Maybe some think Jaime did it and some think Theon did it (for whatever reason). The book reader agreeing that Jaime did it pretty much ruins any anticipation show watchers have towards this mystery.

Jon's parentage is such a mystery. Who is his mother? What would drive Ned Stark, who is such an honourable man, to cheat on his wife and have an illegitimate son with another woman? This is a fun mystery people like to think about. And book readers weighing in on it really take some of it away. You are free to theorize on this with your book knowledge, but do it in another topic designed for book readers in mind.

The show watchers know you've read the books. They know you are privy to more information than them. You simply cannot discuss theories with them because since you know more than them and they know it, the things you say practically become fact to them. They have no idea what information supports what you are saying. They can't go "that's dumb, that theory is flawed because of this etc." All they can do is go "augh, there must be something extra supporting this, why did I have to hear this"




IMO everyone should just ignore SubDeity, it's clear he's either just a garbage tier user trying to troll or an absolute idiot who really doesn't belong in these kinds of topics.

You pretty much said Ned Stark is not Jon Snow's father. This is a theory from the book readers.

It doesn't matter if it's true or not. The show watchers know we know more things than they do, and if we say something like that, they are going to believe it and be annoyed. A fake spoiler is just as annoying as a real one.

And hell, it may not even be fake.

There is absolutely no reason to be doing this.

That sounds like a lot of baseless rumour mongering to me though.



Since you didn't respond to the authenticator question, I assume you don't have one. If you even sneeze near a website that has a keylogger on it, with no authenticator that's probably what happened. It has happened to me tons of times in WoW and it's the same thing here.
