My anti bed bug tips though:

Wash all clothing and bedding you own in high heat. Store ALL clothes in tied off plastic bags (I used clear ones to tell whats in what bag). Get clothes every morning from these bags. I would put dirty clothes in a different bag, and when I cleaned those clothes I would tie off that bag and dispose of it, and put the clean clothes in a fresh bag.

Get a decent vacuum cleaner that puts everything it sucks up into a bag that you can seal - you don't want a vacuum that you just dump out since any bed bugs you suck up could just crawl out. Regularly vacuum your bed, the box spring, and the carpet in any place you suspect you have bed bugs. Immediately dispose of the sealed bag of crap you just sucked up. You can suck up bed bugs and eggs this way.

Get those interceptor cups for your bed posts - they are little traps that the bugs will climb up to get to your bed and then get stuck in. I caught a few like this.

I sprayed the bed frames down with poison to hopefully kill any bed bugs that touched them. Not sure if this was effective.

D Earth is nice since it really does kill them and can keep them from passing through somewhere, but bed bugs are pretty smart about just.... not walking into it and dying so it's not super effective.

I thought about buying one of those closet things you can buy that you can put stuff into and it heat treats it for you. It was like $500-800 dollars or something if I recall correctly. I wasn't desperate enough for that but it seems cool. It'd be nice to heat treat my book collection with this if I had it.

I had them at an apartment building last year that were fucking awful. The spray treatments I received are successful keeping the bugs at bay, but not at eliminating them completely. I eventually broke the lease and moved into the house my brother just bought.

The only things I brought into the house were things I could wash or things I could verify were clear with nothing the bugs could crawl into.

A bunch of other stuff was put into the garage, including some tall bookcases, my DX Racer chair, a 50 inch tv, a large collection of books and comics, and some other stuff. It was all enclosed within a pentagram of diatomaceous earth.

I thought I was getting bit for the last few months, but my bites aren't reacting the way the bed bug bites used to and becoming inflamed or itchy. We had a pest control people come through with the dogs that sniff for bed bugs and they found nothing. So I think I'm in the clear in the house. I think I'm getting bit by spiders, not bed bugs.

So now we are left with the stuff in the garage. I'm not sure what the best way to deal with that stuff is. The pest control people say its not easy to heat treat a garage. My plan is to freeze them out over the winter, but those people say the cold isn't very effective at killing them. They just go dormant. I'm hopeful Edmonton cold will do the trick though...

I've only seen the first episode of Discovery and I can probably buy that. This first episode makes no sense. This main character makes no sense

hey friends looking for BB season advice

I'm looking to watch a season with my buddy who just made me watch Survivor Samoa with Russell Hantz which was amazing. I hadn't seen a Survivor since season 1. He's never been a Big Brother watcher, so I wanna show him an equally good season, while also seeing something new for myself.

Context on my BB experience:

I started watching Big Brother a few years ago with BB17, which I really enjoyed.

I was a huge fan of Vanessa's gameplay. I liked Frank a lot in BB18. I also liked Paulies game a lot until he imploded, though I wasn't a fan of the somewhat bully like mentality in the house especially towards Bridgette. Paul obviously rolled through BB19 but as we all know the bullying went off the charts and he managed the jury very poorly. Great finale, but didn't enjoy the season a ton.

Side bar: I've seen people compare Russell to Paul, but while Paul dominated his season, I see exactly why the jury was so bitter towards him. I don't really get why Russel's jury was so bitter, most of them weren't his allies and werent bullied by him or anything. He just outmaneuvered them and they were buttmad about it. I think there's key differences between juries here...

Anyways, I also saw BBCAN5 which I really enjoyed. I would say it's the best out of all of these seasons that I've watched. If I were to recommend one of those to him, it'd be that. If I had to choose a US one, it'd be BB17.

However, I'd like to watch something new for me alongside him. So, I'm open suggestions to seasons to watch, but in my mind I see myself going to four options, for obvious reasons

BB2 - Dr Will's season. Everyone talks about him like he invented how to play big brother. Gotta watch him at some point. I'm a little worried the game format might not be fleshed out enough back then to introduce someone though

BB10 - Dan Gheesling is a legend. I don't know anything about him or his season though.

BB16 - Derrick's season. Since I started with BB17, I've been hearing talk about him since I started. I'd love to see if the hype lives up. I've heard that his season isn't exciting to watch though which has me worried.

BBCAN2 - Neda's season. I absolutely loved her in BBCAN5 and I wanna see her at her best.

I'm looking for something with good entertaining gameplay, especially early on. My friend is leery of the number of episodes compared to Survivor, so I'd like something that'd grab him quick.

Any input would be great!

i was watching my friend play it and it's an extremely cool art concept.

There's something about the way that old style animation moves that my brain doesn't think things like hit detection should actually work with it properly but it looks like it completely does and it's great.

I think I might get it. How long is the game?

netflix aims to grow to a huge base of subscribers and wants to make shows that appeal to all of these various groups based on what people like to watch, some people like to watch dumbass shows. they put netflix original series so you think you are getting a better value out of your subscription by seeing all these shows that are netflix shows.

What you are saying in the second paragraph does imply a sign of quality - people are more likely to watch something with that tag because they think it should be better.

They are diluting that by just slapping it on anything they think they can get away with though...

Because you associate it with quality, which makes you more likely to watch things with it, which earns Netflix more money.

That's a pretty short term goal though for a company that invests billions in original content with the intention of creating a brand of good original content...

Why is netflix putting this on practically everything it gets these days?

I always thought of shows produced and funded by Netflix as Netflix Original Series. They've done an incredible job doing this with all kinds of shows. They've had misses, but overall in the past whenever I'd see "netflix original series" I'd be all 'hot damn what have you got for me this time??"

But lately it seems like anything they get distribution rights to they just slap that tag on there.

Like in the regions they have Star Trek Discovery, it opens up with the "Netflix Original Series" screen This isn't a netflix show. This is a CBS show, and more relevantly, a CBS All Access show.

A while ago, a show came up in my recommendations called Shadowhunters, and it said it was a Netflix Original Series. It looked like a supernatural kind of show which I like so I gave it a try. It was god awful. I looked into it, and it was actually made and aired by some US network, and Netflix just got the rights to air it in Canada. So they... had nothing to do with making that show.

I feel like this is really dumb and makes me think negatively of netflix original shows - the tag just means so much less than when I associated it with House of Cards or Daredevil.

I felt like the idol turned out pretty well. It wasn't used to directly influence events, but it had some good impact. The weasel used it really well for himself. First, he reeled in a strong looking competitor in his tribe to work with. Second, he chose a good person to disrupt the tribal council tribe to give the idol to. He gave it to the puking girl to cause the likely attempt to vote her off to fail and potentially get someone strong out. Despite having such limited information about that tribes dynamics, his plan looked like it was really gonna work out and Jash or Alan coulda went home. It's too bad Chrissy decided not to protect Katrina. But oh well. I think his attempt and intention were sound.

It seemed like everybody here hates him for some reason. I'm not sure why. He seems like great TV.

I've become a big fan of Rob Has A Podcast this season and listen to Taran's morning updates every day, even though this season sucks.

How's their Survivor coverage? I've tried listening to this "First One Out" series and it was really bland and uninteresting... and suddenly it switched to interviewing new players or something and I was totally unclear on who or what I was even listening to.
