I hate small town living, and hope to move back to the city someday. I like fresh produce, but in a city closer to the coast I could trade that for fresh seafood, and still get the good produce if I spend more. All I'd really miss is being able to go for a drive. Even then, the toxic air from the agriculture industry ruins it sometimes.

There are, but the midwest has less cities to break it up. And small towns are fine if you can quickly get to a decent city.

Rural areas in general suck ass. I don't know much about the cities out there, but the isolated small towns are almost certainly shit, by metric of being isolated small towns.

Unlimited science knowledge is worthless if you can't secure funding for research, so if you're not charismatic or well versed in the politics of academia then it's a risky choice.

I mean, he's right that we're better off financially. The stimulus check wasn't too significant, but remote working saved most people thousands a year on gas and vehicle repair, even with higher gas prices. Raises were dramatically higher on average, so income has gone up quite a bit. Unemployment and payroll loans were a huge influx of money, and most were able to turn that into more money, few had to pay it back.

It's frustrating to look at the cost of groceries because the number isn't what you remember as reasonable. But in actuality, you can afford it better. Most people are significantly more comfortable financially.

The last 10 minutes are so are great. The theme of violence and war ultimately overwhelming civilization, the confrontation between Taylor and Dr Zaeus, and the ending are worthwhile. They don't make up for the rest of the movie, but that stuff was good.

Almost all burgers should have cheese. It has to have a lot of other toppings for cheese to fail to be a straight upgrade. Getting a burger without cheese is a failure.

Mayo is a downgrade to most burgers though. It has to pair with specific other toppings, otherwise mayo is a downgrade. At the very least it needs lettuce and tomato, an a toasted bun (or roll if it's a cheeseburger sub).

NYT is being deliberately misleading. Cases like this won't take anywhere close to 20 months. It will be quickly resolved, and the charges for her arrest and any fines that go with them will be dropped.

And yeah, it sucks, but for every case like this, there are 4000 abusive boyfriends that kick out their girlfriend and sell her stuff because she's technically not on the lease. Squater's rights exist (and are primarily used, by many orders of magnitude) to protect those people.
