I wish they'd bring back that "add difficulty modifiers to make it harder" boss battle event. The one with the Triple Kenkis that, when maxed out, was so hard people thought it was literally impossible to win.

Yeah I've noticed that the probability of getting a 5-star ramps up dramatically around 70-75

Widsith is arguably the best catalyst in the game at R5. It's legitimately ridiculous for a 4-star weapon.

So anyway I'm at Pull 63 of a Soft Pity, but as of today's Abyss I now have 110 Intertwined Fates. That's enough to be guaranteed a Nahida even if I lose the 50/50, right

I did a tenpull on Albedo (damn you, DarkRoast!) and got two Barbaras, which I'm happy with. She's C3 now.

Well, I lost 5* pity... on the weapon banner.

Set path for Key, got PJC. Kept rolling until I got Xiphos, then switched to starglitter fates for Nilou. Took 10 rolls, but I won the coin flip.

Just went back to weapon banner, and immediately got another Xiphos... then random PJ Spear. Guess I have to go for Key after all.

To be fair, Jade Cutter is legitimately one of the best weapons in the game.

I really don't like the way Nilou feels in the trial.

I don't really like using blooms, so I'm skipping Nilou. I've got 105 Intertwined Fates saved up so far. Probably will have enough to potentially get Nahida and some constellations since I'm only 20 away from pity anyway.

Childe is absolute god-tier in Hyakunin Ikki lol. And actually, Xiao is surprisingly amazing too.

they went overboard with launch units like her, xingqiu, and bennet and are scared of that kind of goodness for 4 stars ever since.

Added to that, they clearly didn't understand what a lack of internal cooldown on elemental application would do for characters like Tartaglia and Xiangling. To be fair, the player base didn't really understand it for about a year either.

But you'll notice they haven't made any characters with similar mechanics ever since then. They deliberately made Ayato's hydro application much slower (he would be so busted otherwise), and Sub DPS characters in particular tend to have less off-field elemental application than before. Hell, Xingqiu applies hydro more frequently than Yelan until her C2, and it's debatable as to whether or not Yelan is actually better than C6 Xingqiu as a support unit (she has better DPS for sure, though).

Since you're talking about refining your Skyward Harp, is it generally better to refine 5* weapons then? As opposed to keeping a couple separate for more than one character usage?

Normally I just refine because it's pretty rare that you'd need the same weapon on different characters, even in the Abyss. The only exceptions I made were for Mistsplitter and Primordial Jade Spear because they're good on anyone who can equip them.

I just got done adding up all the mats I'll need for Childe later this year, that'll take a while, too. He'll be my first maxed level and maxed talent character. I was looking up his best bow (Polar Star) and was it seriously only obtainable once back in 2021? Kind of an oof.

Fortunately Thundering Pulse (Yoimiya's bow) is about equal to Polar Star, and Skyward Harp isn't far behind either. I kinda want to finally get Polar Star though. Especially since it has so much crit rate.

Weird thing for me is that I keep getting Skyward Harps for some reason, so now I'm at R4. It gets Crit DMG with refinement (and Crit Rate with Ascension) so it winds up being a big stat stick at high refinement.

Nahida prep update:

Got:
92 Intertwined Fates (~10 away from Soft Pity, so at very worst I'll still get Nahida)
9 million Mora
All the Green/Blue/Gold Ingenuity books necessary to 8/8/8 talents (9 / 63 / 30, respectively)
890 purple XP books (420 to go 1-90)
174 Kalpalata Lotuses (168 needed to ascend to 90)

Now all I need is the Dendro Hypostasis (not released) for ascension and the boss materials (probably also not released yet) for talent levels beyond 6.

I saved up 7 resin moon things, which gives 420 total resin - enough to farm the hypostasis ~11x. With an average of 2.5 boss materials per fight, I can reasonably get 28 boss drops. You need 46 to go from 1 to 90, so that's gonna take a couple days of farming even with max preparation. And of course the boss is only once per week.

Skipping Cyno and Nilou so I'll have about 20 more fates by then anyway.
I haven't spent a dime since 3.0 so this has all been through chests and quests.

It's a lot easier than it looks. Just have it run to one of the traps when they activate, then throw your own traps at it when it's dazed and it takes a ton of damage.

Razor is too wholesome for this world.

Also Noelle seems way more confident.

This event is a good reminder of why Monstadt has the best characters.

Yeah, basically Nahida can utilize her EM scaling as a catalyst to carry Nilou's team alone, allowing you to abuse XQ/Yelan dps.

Nahida / C2 Kaz / C6 Diona / Albedo

Kaz + Diona with Elegy + Albedo Ult = +675 EM

Probably not viable but at least looks cool

So tired of Sumeru that I decided to Xiao it up in the Abyss. He's actually amazing on Side A because it's a bunch of bulky enemies clustered together
