Long-term use of it will make these things worse. It's best to address the underlying cause; but if you can't do that and must abuse a substance, alcohol is one of the worst ones you could choose. I'm speaking from experience here. I used to have major issues with those things, and used alcohol to try and deal with them, which just made me even worse. I switched to synthetic cannibis products, you know, those horrific life-destroying evil substances everyone's petrified of... and was much better off for it. I don't use them anymore, though, partly because they're no longer legal here and unlike the legal regulated market* I don't trust the black market ones. And partly because I no longer need it. * yes, I'm aware they're not regulated in most places; but for a while they were actually regulated (rather than just "legal because they haven't been banned yet") here. --- |

It's hard to tell if Clinton would have gone that far, I get the impression she would have liked to, but probably would not have actually managed to. You pretty much have to look to either what fringe movements want, or outside the US, to find actual examples that come anywhere near 1984. --- |
