Got warned for a thread talking about how much I hated a certain community of people who try to pick up women by insulting them. People who neg. But that... wasn't the way I referred to the group. Y'all can guess what happened.

A guy was asking if a certain character and another character had ever been depicted pornographically together. I PMed them with a link to a flash game about that very thing, and they marked me and I was suspended for a month. Turns out they were trying to bait someone into doing that very thing.

Off the top of my head: a few years ago, responding to a thread titled "what's your favorite vegetable" with the name of a famous coma patient is the only thing that's ever gotten me warned (which I maintain was too harsh given I had no other moderations on my record at the time, but I'm too much of a pussy to file an appeal, especially given it seems to me that they just go in and hit the mass uphold button every day or two.)
Compare to about a year ago, where I got like 4 or 5 moderations at once -- but none of them more than a 3KL -- for a thread where I was talking about a sex toy I recently purchased. That one also pissed me off, mostly because the mods let it stay up for nearly a week before starting to nuke all my posts and they clearly knew about it long before they did anything. I'm sure the only reason they suddenly had a problem with it was because a few people [who I can't really describe the way I want because then this post will probably get modded for flaming even though I'm not specifically naming anyone] started complaining repeatedly about it.
Besides those there's nothing that really sticks out to me, just a few NKL deletions over the years (which still irritate me) and maybe another 3KL somewhere? I don't really remember TBH.

For posting a joke....

I made a topic with the headline "New facts have been discovered about Jiren" (From Dragon Ball Super)

Then the opening post was a picture of Jiren, with lots of Chuck norris style jokes but applied to Jiren.

What I did wrong was posting fake news... iirc the message was "Don't create topics that are jokes but have a serious title" or something that pretty much meant that.

I hate mods since that day, no fun allowed here.

Sadly, within hours of that post, there were people saying things similar to my post on other sites, and they were totally serious.

Calling Hillary Clinton that word you can't call women. Got a warning. Ok, it's dumb but the word is considered worse than the rest. Fine

Then less than a week later there was that controversy over the word and it was being said left and right on the site. Hate to get all political, but it had to be a mod who is a fan of hers that got me. Apparently it's just as bad as the n word according to the mod.

I was the first (and probably one of the only) users to get modded for posting any news article on the Politics board.

Mods at the time had decided that any link with more than 2-3 sentences of quotes pulled from it was "plagiarism" even if you linked to it and never claimed it was your own. That's...not even the definition of plagiarism (you can do block quotes in an academic paper as long as you cite it). Plus, oh yeah, this is not f***ing high school and nobody is submitting messages to mods for grades. But whatever.

What happened was they did the "plagiarism" rule unannounced, so nobody knew about it, but of course I was one of the first ones hit by it (telltale sign that some mod or somebody close to them doesn't like me). In theory, you'd never be able to link/quote news articles ever again on a news board. In practice, people who knew the secret "rules" of the site would selectively apply them against accounts they didn't like. So there were plenty of links that were never touched and nobody knew what was going on, and it was all bogus.

Eventually the mods admitted to the unannounced rule change and then pulled it because of complaints (also unannounced). This site is really awful at communication.
