I'm curious about the origin movie they're planning (and maybe something involving The Old Republic), but Episode X already sounds like it might be the start of another trilogy that doesn't really go anywhere. I would hope I'm wrong though. The Sequel Trilogy was fun for a first watch but I don't feel like watching them ever again.

. So I'm going to ignore them.

Dunno what this would mean for any potential KOTOR style game in the the future.

I hope Mangold and davey boy Filoni realize that the Jedi thousands of eons ago had primitive forms of lightsabers where they were attached to wires and a belt where the lightsabers had to be charged back up every time.

I should get around to reading those some day.

Wow, this all sounds great. Then again, they've announced like 50 movies in the past few years and none of them came out lol. I hope these do.

• Mangold has an existing relationship with Lucasfilm and has already completed a film for them
• Filoni has an extensive decade+ relationship with them and his film is tied to properties that are actively being released
• Sharmeen's film already has an actress attached and (if this is the film that Lindeloff was writing for) already has a draft of the script

Try to keep at it first. Rebels really starts off like a typical children's "need to sell toys" cartoon until it truly starts exploring the SW universe and building its own plot.

One thing about Rey returning that has me really pumped up:

I'm betting that Luke will 100% be in it and will be helping Rey.

I'm guessing he'll also be in Filoni's movie.

I can hear the seething butthurt nerds already.

This is all great and all, but I have to wonder how her personal feelings will seep into this movie and what the reactions will be.

Is it just gonna be men are evil, women will make the Force perfect? Lot of hate on men past few years.

What do I need to watch to understand this show?

I have only watched the main 9 movies plus rogue one. Mandalorian and boba fett. That's it.

• James Mangold (Logan, Indiana Jones 5, 3:10 to Yuma) is directing a film exploring the origins of the Jedi Order. In the panel it was likened to a "biblical epic" set 25,000 years before the Skywalker Saga.
• Dave Filoni's film will be the "Avengers" of the Mandoverse. All the storylines being set up in the various series will culminate in it.
• As mentioned in the other topic, Sharmeen's (not Charmeen's) film will be set after Episode IX and follow Rey as she attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order.

I get the feeling this isn't going to sit well with many fans
