The biggest glaring issue I had was the MAJOR Dragon ex Machina

I think the reason the book declined in quality, as you said, is because books 4 and 5 were supposed to be one book. Then it dragged on so Martin had to split it and it was still too long so he had to push stuff to winds

Feast and Dance have no real climaxes, which is why they are perceived as a decline compared to storm

That's one reason I'm excited for winds though because (in theory) there should be two climaxes...one to start and one to end
