A Short Hike
This game was pretty cute and short. I'd say it was worth the $5.00 I spent on it. Climbing to the top of the mountain to talk to your mom sounds like a really sweet thing to do. Early on I was a bit confused by what to do, but after a while it became much easier. I wish there were a bit more to it, but for what it is, it works quite well.

Lee Everett
Sorry, No never played mystery dungeon. Lee Everett though.. I played Walking Dead a long time ago. I liked it quite a bit. And Lee's relationship with Clementine is a solid relationship, though I think The Last of Us did it better. I wish the choices in the game had more impact. Lee is pretty sympathetic in spite of his past. And I feel like few characters who are criminals get treated as well as Lee did by the game itself. Lee is flawed, but still a decent person.

Natsuki (Doki Doki Literature Club)
Haven't played Doki Doki, so I'm going to avoid spoilers here where I can because I'd like to play it some day. She's very short. Even shorter than me! And she has pink hair. Which is okay. Blue is better lol. Sorry I can't go into it more than that, but I'd rather not be spoiled.

Fred Durst (WWF Raw)
Apparently he's a wrestler and a rapper? I've never heard of him. Or heard any of his music. Apparently he got into the game because of his music licensing i guess? I'm not into wrestling either. I did play WWE vs NWO a little, but I was never good at it.

Gregg Lee (Night in the Woods)
Looks like he's a fox and LGBT! I have no idea what kind of game Night in The Woods is. He apparently doesn't like Pizza Crust. I get sandwich crusts a little, I didn't like them when I was a kid. My kids don't mind them. But Pizza crust? That's almost the best part of the pizza. Now I want pizza lol. Apparently he has a strained relationship with his parents. That's unfortunate. But I hope it's not because he's gay. (I feel like that trope is kind of overdone even if it's true a lot of the time sadly.)

Delita Hyral
Delita is a complex character. He's also plotting and scheming, and in spite of it all he's not really a villain. Early in the game when he loses his sister, you can understand his hate for Algus. I mean who doesn't hate Algus the moment you meet him? Too bad you can't let him die permanently before that moment. In ways he's a lot like Edelgard. Has good ideas, but his methods are questionable. I'd love to see the game from his perspective. Or at least see more scenes with him in it. I know FFT is supposedly getting a remake.

Ray the Flying Squirrel
Yeah, I beat Tyson. My brother said I couldn't, so I put my mind to it. Anyway. Ray is apparently a Sonic the Hedgehog character. I don't think I've played a game with him in it. He kind of looks like Super Sonic. And not at all like a flying squirrel. Actually never heard of SegaSonic the Hedgehog. I knew Sonic had a lot of friends who were also woodland creatures, but the only ones I was aware of were Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose and Big the Cat I think Big the Cat is a friend. i'm not sure actually...

Liquid Snake
The twist is actually kind of silly when you think about it, but it's still pretty good. I feel like Liquid Snake is one of the more interesting Metal Gear main villains. I can't remember too much about him, except that he was voiced by Cam Clarke. He's got an understandable inferiority complex. He and Solid Snake have an interesting relationship. I wonder how he'd feel if he learned he wasn't the inferior clone all along.

Guy Cecil
Guy is a good friend. He has a fear of women that is rooted in his backstory in a way that was done pretty well, I think. It's a sad backstory, and it's almost a wonder he and Luke were ever able to become friends. He's also one of the first to return to Luke, and helps him on his journey. Guy doesn't quite get development at the level of say Tear or Luke. But he still gets pretty good development. I'm not a fan of playing as him as much as I am Luke. I feel like his playstyle is totally different. Of the Tales of the Abyss characters, I'd say he's probably my 4th favorite. And overall probably my 33rd favorite Tales character.

Elena Fisher (Uncharted)
I like Elena quite a bit. She looks a bit like her voice actress Emily Rose (and she, Nolan North and Claudia Black were all on Haven at the same time. It was kind of funny, since the plot wasn't too different from Uncharted. Likely intentionally.) I think she helps keep Nathan grounded. Though I wish she were around more in the games. I played Uncharted 2 before the first game, which was hard to go back to. But Elena was a great part of that game too.

Mr. Dream
I've never fought him, as I never had the version with Mr. Dream in it. He's apparently just like Tyson though, and really hard to beat.

Skull Merchant
I hate going against Skull Merchant. I'm glad they nerfed eruption before putting her into the game, because can you imagine old skull merchant with Eruption, Call of Brine, Overcharge? Even Team Eternal had trouble with her. Which is just crazy. They changed her so she's not quite as miserable to go against, but I still don't like playing against her. But I won't try to unhook myself if I see her anymore. I think her design is fine, but her power is miserable and her mori is just Freddy's. I don't think they've released a really bad chapter since her though. Well maybe Singularity. I don't like facing him either. Her drones are annoying to deal with still. But at least they have a bit of a counter now. But she's SOOO quiet as a stealth killer.

Summer-Colored High School Adolescent Record - A Summer At School On An Island Where I Contemplate How The First Day After I Transferred, I Ran Into A Childhood Friend And Was Forced To Join The Journalism Club Where While My Days As A Paparazzi Kid With Great Scoops Made Me Rather Popular Among The Girls, But Strangely My Camera Is Full Of Panty Shots, And Where My Candid Romance Is Going.
Apparently this is a real thing. Wow. Just wow. That's all I'm going to say.

Donkey Kong
Never was a big fan of Donkey Kong. I don't think I ever got past level 3. It just wasn't a game I found that engrossing. His later games are fantastic, though.

Save My Favorite Final Fantasy Characters
I don't really know much about this. Looking it up, looks like Celes won once! Yay. I like Celes. Save My's were interesting a long time ago, but less so now for me. Then again, I can't participate in most of them as I'm not online when they're going on.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Honestly, I didn't like the weapon break system. So I ended up not doing much fighting until I got the Master Sword. The four dungeons are pretty good, but I wish there were more of them and less shrines. I think the shrines were okay, aside from the ones with the guardians. I prefer the puzzles. I'm also not a huge fan of how you get every tool pretty much from the start. There's not much feeling of progression. Climbing was pretty terrible, especially in the rain. But it's still a Zelda game, and one that provides a good challenge. I don't love it as much as most people do, but I still like it. But I also don't see myself replaying it any time soon. If at all.

Space Funeral
Reminds me a little bit of undertale. Though there weren't many good trailers for it, so it was hard to get much information on.

Evergrace
Sorry, this game doesn't look good at all. The music is bad. The graphics are okay, but the gameplay looks kind of boring. I'm not surprised that I never heard of it.

Drakengard
I've heard of the series, but I've never played it. You can clearly hear Mona Marshall in the trailer. I've always liked Dragons though. And the dragons look pretty cool. Some of the voice acting is a bit off... but some of it isn't bad. For a PS2 game that's kind of expected. Surprised I've never played this given it's a Square Enix game.

Persona 5
Persona 5 had a lot to live up to... and for the most part it managed it quite well. The first palace is excellent, and some of the best story telling. But the rest of the game can be a bit of hit and miss. Don't get me wrong, though, I still love Persona 5. It has the best confidants in the series, and great characters. I just wish they had a bit more relevance after their early appearances outside of Makoto and Ryuji. The TWIST though in November? That makes the whole game worth it, and helps keep it in contention for the best Persona game. I don't think the cast quite has the chemistry, and they often argue about their morals, but... it never goes anywhere. And then there's Morgana's really annoying Arc, and the way he constantly tells you to go to bed. I can't wait for Persona 6!

Mario Party Superstars
I play this game some with my kids. The mini games are fun. The board game itself... it's just kind of bullshit. Especially if you play with the computer. Luckily my youngest (well youngest for another few weeks anyway) is now old enough to play. So when we play now, we don't have to include the cheating bastards. The mini games are easily the best part though. This is better than the other mario party on the switch, which was a real disappointment.

Castle Infinity
I don't know if I found the right thing or not... but I'm not a fan of the graphics. Or the outfits of the dinosaurs. I'm not sure its the right game? It says its an MMO Platformer? I didn't get to see any gameplay.

Doom Eternal
I have never played a Doom Game. I'm not much for first person shooters. I'm terrible at aiming. I played a bit of Perfect Dark and Goldeneye. And... that's about it as far as FPS's go. I don't have anything against them. I'm just terrible at them. It looks fun for people who enjoy First Person Shooters, though! I like some of the enemy designs.

Luke fon Fabre
Luke is one of the best developed characters in any game ever. He's also one of my favorites. When you first meet Luke, he's this spoiled sheltered brat. You almost feel sorry for him because of all the things he doesn't know. But then he acts like a spoiled brat, and all that sympathy goes out the window. By the time you're on your way to Akzeriuth, it's easy to have had it up to here with him. Then... he destroys Akzeriuth. Betrayed by his master, he's forced to destroy an entire town. He does feel a bit more sorry for himself than he should, but the way the others treat him is harsh. Though I do think it's a bit unfiar. The other people he could have trusted in the party were: A woman who kidnapped him and tried killing her own brother, his servant, a spoiled princess who blackmailed her way into the party, an annoying gold digger, a snarky colonel who keeps sercrets, and Ion who is kind of going along anyway. On top of it all, most of them know he's a Replica. A sheltered replica who really had no reason to trust any of them over Van. Not to mention he's basically seven years old. And so Luke goes from this whiny annoying brat, to someone you feel sorry for. Then he gets his important haircut and goes on a journey of growth to learn the meaning of him being him. The meaning of birth, if you will. It's why he's one of my favorite Tales characters, and easily my favorite tales protagonist. I will always cry on the tower of Rem when Luke is about to sacrifice himself. Tear clearly doesnt' want him to, and the party have grown attached to him, even as they say that it'd be better for Asch to go on. He wants to redeem himself for what was a horrible (if well intended) act. I like to think in the end, it's Luke in Asch's body that come back. Though it's also possible that Jade jsut made another replica with Luke's memories. But the way he says he made a promise makes me think it's Luke. Gosh do I want a Tales of the Abyss Remaster! C'mon you gave us Symphonia! now do abyss! Also the duel between him and Asch at the end as meaning of birth plays is the most emotional duel in the series.

Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia)
I like Lloyd. He's kind of dim, but he's an idealist. Probably the second biggest idealist in the Tales series. (Asbel gets #1) Him fighting with two swords makes his style pretty unique. He's probably my favorite to play as. Lloyd means well most of the time, and he wants to find a solution for both Sylvarant and Tetheallla. I feel like the sequel kind of ruined him. Doesn't help that he got a new voice actor who I feel didn't do a good job. While Luke is my second favorite tales character, Lloyd is probably #10. Which is still really good. I think the hot and cold scene is cute. And actually pretty smart for Lloyd. I also like the fact he has two dads. Even if they aren't married. The duel between him and Kratos is one of the better duels in the series.

Shantae
The half-genie hero is a pretty fun character. I like her transformations, and her design is really good too. I've only played a couple of Shantae Games (two of the newer ones) but I've liked her character for the most part. She has some good friends like Skye and Rotty Tops. And even some decent enemies. She's also funny at times. The mystery with her mother is interesting, though I dont' know the full story there. For a platforming character, she has a LOT of character, which is rare for the genre.

Nidoran Male
Nidoran Male is okay, but I think I like the Nidoqueen line better. I was never sure what kind of animal they were supposed to be! Also kind of funny how they have different species, but later games just straight up added gender. As far as poison ground types go... there are better ones, but the Nidoking Line will do just fine.

Pyramid Head (Silent Hill 2)
I've only ever played the first Silent Hill game. Well, I did play a little of SH2, but it was like... 10 minutes? I never got to see Pyramid Head. I've seen him a lot in Dead by Daylight though, and know a lot of his lore. He's definitely an interesting enemy. I don't like facing him in DBD though.

Tidus
I've always thought Tidus doesn't get enough love for a Final Fantasy protagonist. He's a tragic character when you get down to it. Has everything going for him, when he gets sucked into this world he knows nothing about. He's not as serious and stoic as Cloud or Squall. And he's not quite as flirty as Zidane. But I think that's what makes him work so well. I think people are overly harsh on the laughing scene, and in context it makes perfect sense. That ending still makes me cry. He also gets a lot of hate for looking like Meg Ryan. Also it should be Tie-dus not Tee-dus, but I digress.

Mike Tyson
Not really a video game character. But he was really hard to fight. I've only ever beat him once though. My brother loves this game. And yes, he has the mike tyson verison.

Kitty (Little Kitty, Big City)
Cute kitty! Cute name. Not much else to say on this one.

Kitana
I like Kitana okay I guess. It's been a long time since I've played a Mortal Kombat game. Trilogy was the last time I played. So you can guess how long that's been. I think I played Sindel the most, but I played a little Kitana. Fighting games aren't really my kind of thing. I also think she was in the movie? Which was a terrible movie, but that theme was probably one of the greatest things about the 90's movies.

Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik
I didn't think I'd like the Jim Carrey version. I'm not a big fan of Jim Carrey. But he made it work in the movie somehow. Dr. Robotnik is a decent villain, though I don't get why he wants to turn animals into Robots. His boss battles are pretty standard fare. He's just never been on the same level as say Bowser or Dr. Wily for me as far as villains go.

Travis Touchdown
I only played the first No More Heroes. Then I quit near the end because I had to do a lot of grinding, and I didn't like that. Travis is an interesting character. A nerd and an assassin. He can be a fun character. I wouldn't say he's a great character, but he gets the job done. I like the name, it's alliterative and fits him pretty well. Also he uses a really cool weapon.

Bayou Billy
Own this game, but can't play it because we don't have the light gun anymore. He reminds me of Crocodile Dundee. He's an 8-bit character, but has a decent enough design. I wonder if they wanted to make a Crocodile Dundee game, and just couldn't get the rights.

Ringabel (Bravely Default)
I'm actually not a fan of Casanova characters (Zelos is an exception). I've never played Bravely Default. But it sounds like he develops out of the Casanova personality as he learns more about himself. Bravely Default sounds really interesting. Too bad they don't have it on Switch. They do have the second game, which I own, but haven't played much of.

Raiden (MGS series)
A lot of people don't like Raiden, but I'm okay with him. Maybe because I never went in with expectations beyond "It's a Metal Gear Solid Game". I didn't mind that Snake wasn't the main character. (MGS3 is probably my favorite of the series). So I don't get the hate people have for him. He seems okay. And pretty cool in the later games even. I think I liked MGS2 more than MGS1. Well except for the villains, which I feel like the original game did better. It's been a long time since I've played Metal Gear though. At least 10 years.

Grovyle (Mystery Dungeon)
I like Treecko, but not a fan of his last evolution. I prefer mudkip and torchic. At least of the gen 3 starters. Of all grass starters... I'd say Grovyle is probably behind Meowscarada, Venusaur, and Torterra. So probably my third favorite of all grass starters, which isn't too bad.

Big Daddy (Bioshock
I very briefly played Bioshock. I don't think I got to any Big Daddy's. If I did, I don't remember them. They look kind of imposing. I don't know much about them, and I'd rather not spoil myself too much in case I decide to finish Bioshock some day.

Ranni the Witch (Elden Ring)
Never played Elden Ring. She looks like a pretty typical witch, though. She has a really big hat. Apparently you serve her? I don't know anything about Elden Ring. Except that there's a DLC coming out soon called Shadows of the Erd Tree or something like that.

Edelgard (FE3H)
I like Edelgard and the black eagles. they're probably my favorite class in all of Three Houses. Though I wasn't able to play her route. I like her design the best of the three main characters, too. I agree with Edelgard's ideas, but not so much her methods. I think she's also one of the more fun characters to play as. I wish she were the character in Smash instead of Byleth. I mean I like Byleth, but Edelgard would've been a better addition imo. Not my oveall favorite character in Fire Emblem Three Houses (Lysythia followed by Dorthea) but she's probably my third favorite.

Clive Rosfield
It's hard not to feel sorry for Clive right from the start. Sold into slavery by his mother because he wasn't a dominant, felt responsible for the death of his brother, unable to do much about his situation until he happens to run into Cid. He's fun to play as too! Though I wish we had more playable characters in FFXVI. The epic battles between Dominants in the game were some of the best in the series. The way he reacts to the bearers plight, even before becoming one, shows his true character. He won't tolerate injustice. I think he woudl've been a great leader. I wish Anabelle had seen him as a Dominant.

Golf Story
This looks like a cross between Stardew Valley and Mario Golf. Which is actually pretty interesting for an idea. I actually really like Mario Golf. Though 2D golfing I'm not so sure about. Might actually pick this game up if they put it on sale for like $10.00 instead of $15.00. Could be worth trying out.

Trails in the Sky
This one looks more interesting than the newer games imo. I think I might have played one of them for a little bit but got bored pretty quick. Maybe it was something else. It was free on the playstation subscription service. I like the attacks in the trailer, especially the ones that hit multiple enemies.

Fire Emblem Engage
Only started this game, and never got very far. Not for lack of liking it, though. I just had so much else to play. And I haven't had time to get back to it. Plus my kids have the switch most of the time. But it's definitely on my to play list, so I'm not going to watch a trailer. I think Alear actually looks pretty cool, even if she has colgate hair.

Persona 4
This is one of my all time favorite games. I didn't know what to expect when going into Persona 4. I just knew that I loved Persona 3. But could this game really top it? Somehow... it exceeded all expectations and then some. They created a cast with some of the best chemistry in all of gaming. The characters feel like friends in high school. I don't think there's a single character I dislike of the main cast. There's not a lot of games that you can say that about. I think the overall mystery is just secondary to the life sim, but the main story is still solid. I think the reveal of the true culprit is a tad anticlimactic, but that SHOCKER in November is just heartwrenching. Rise is probably my favorite character, although Yu isn't far behind. I REALLY hope we get a remake like we did for 3. I think Persona 4 actually does need it. Not that the game has aged all that bad, but there's so many quality of life changes it needs. Plus some... rather uncomfortable moments with Yosuke.

Fear and Hunger
I expected a lot worse tbh. This wasn't that bad. Looks kind of like a Suikoden game, but way way darker, and less about war. And super violent. But other than that, okay I guess.

Batman: Arkham Knight
I didn't enjoy this as much as the other Arkham games. I never managed to beat it, either. But it wasn't bad. It just wasn't as good as the other two. I think I got stuck at some point, and then just gave up on it. Not a terrible game by any means, though!

Golden Sun
I never beat Golden sun, but I did play some of it. It was pretty fun. A bit of an old school rpg. I'm glad it's on the switch now, so I can play it some time and actually beat it. The characters were interesting. Particularly the villains Saturnos and Menardi I think were their names. I also remember Isaac getting into character battles on gamefaqs. i think Felix did too?

Soul Calibur
Only played Soul Calibur 2, and only because of Link. It was an interesting fighting game, but fighting games really aren't my thing. I don't know why. They've just never held my interest very long. I think again it's because I can never remember button combos. Soul Calibur has some good characters though. I feel like that's the strength of a fighting game. Cool characters.

KOF Maximum Impact Regulation "A"
Outside of Smash Bros, I don't really play many fighting games. I dabbled a little in Persona 4 arena, but even that wasn't really for me. I feel like the trailer is almost seizure inducing, so I figured I'd watch a gameplay video instead. Looks very much like a fighting game lol. I could never remember button combos. I don't think I've even tried a single KoF game. Though have heard of them.

Persona 3
I remember getting Persona 3 for my husband for his birthday. I was still in college at the time, and the game really took me. Amazing soundtrack, amazing cast (except Ken!), great story and fantastic atmosphere. It made me a Persona fan for life. The original game was difficult, but I don't feel it was ever unfair. The social link system was a lot of fun, and without it I don't think Persona takes off as much as it does. Though I hate that you couldn't friendzone anyone and had to date everyone. Felt kind of skeezy. Reload was fantastic, and somehow improved on the formula. And even the voice acting is great. I don't think the social links were as good as the later games. And I think 4 and 5 do so many things better. But this was a great starting point for the modern Persona series. (I do acknowledge Persona 1 and 2 exist lol). Yukari is my favorite character, with Mitsuru not far behind. Favorite non-party member social link is obviously the Sun social link, Akinari. The ending made me cry. It's a beautiful game, and still one of my favorites.

Chiaki Nanami
I know nothing about Danganronpa. She has a cute outfit though. Reading her bio on the wiki... it seems kind of contradictory? She becomes more lively discussing games and concentrates hard when playing. Then it says she dozes off while playing games. That's... very contradictory. She doesn't sound very confident. It also says she's very good at games, but how good can she be if she falls asleep?!

Natalia Lanvaldear
I really like Natalia. Her character evolves quite a bit over the course of Tales of the Abyss. She goes from a somewhat spoiled princess, to someone who accepts Luke and Asch both for who they are. Learning that she's not a princess by birth changes her a lot, and the fact that Largo is her father is quite the blow to her. In a game with a lot of really strong character, she still manages to stand out. She has a lot of really cute outfits too. The fact that the citizens of Kimlaska adore her shows that she's more than just a spoiled princess, even before the game begins. I like the way she forces her way into the party through blackmail. Her growth over the game, while not as steep as Luke's, is still excellent.

Fiolina Germi
I have never played Metal Slug. The wiki doesn't say much about her. Other than that she was the sole female heir of her family, which required her to become a soldier. Despite this, her parents clearly loved her. I think I like the MS awakening design better than the other two. I particularly like the heart locket, the rabbit patch, and even the band aid. She looks a bit like a soldier, though her outfit isn't exactly practical for fighting.

Meg Thomas
Megs have a really bad reputation in Dead by Daylight. But I've seen some good Meg's. I think because she's one of the free characters, and comes with an exhaustion perk and adrenaline, a lot of people play her first and then just stick with her because they have stuff on her. But a lot of newer players probably play her, which leads to less than stellar results. Sprint Burst is a good perk, but I'm terrible at using it so usually I don't. Adrenaline is nice, but it only works in end game. Quick and Quiet though I find very useful. Especially to pair with something like Head On. Meg's design is pretty good, and she has some good outfits. Poor Meg was mistreated in the Resident Evil trailer!

Kyle Hyde
He very much has the appearance of a detective. Like a much younger Dick Gumshoe. Apparently he's sarcastic and nosy. Doesn't sound like he's good with kids either. There's a pretty big section on his religious beliefs, which the games apparently don't go into, but I find that kind of weird to just put that there. But it sounds like despite his flaws, he still has a strong sense of justice. And it sounds like he has a little bit of a soft side. I'll pick a favorite quote because this writeup is a little short, and they have some quotes; "You never used a gun in your life. Oh sure, you imagined what it would be like. But you got no idea what it's like to pull the trigger. To take a life. You got no idea what it takes to bleed a man out and watch his light go.

Estelle Bright
I've never played any of the Trails games. I like her design though. She reminds me a little of Aika from Skies of Arcadia. It sounds like she gets some decent development, and she's kind and makes friends easily. Another child born to a military family. I think her later appearances are better than her earlier ones. I really don't know what trails in the sky is about. I've heard of the series, though. I also like her name. "Bright". Also I like characters who fight with Bo Staffs! And she's voiced by Stephanie Sheh, who also voiced Natalia.

Chloe Price
Chloe is probably one of my favorite Life is Strange Characters. She's a delinquent, but I don't think she's a bad person. She's just had a lot of bad circumstances. Her relationship with Max is probably the best one in the game. Sadly I haven't played Life Before the Storm. I really like that Chloe has blue hair. In a game like Life is Strange it makes her stand out, whereas in a game like Fire Emblem it would simply be the norm. When it comes down to it, I've always saved Chloe except for the one playthrough where i saved Arcadia Bay. But that's actually less because of Chloe, and more because I think Max's whole journey doesn't have nearly as much meaning if she saves the town, leaving Chloe to her fate. I'm pretty excited about the new Life is Strange game, and I hope Chloe is in it.

Phoenix Wright
As far as attorneys go, Phoenix Wright is one of the more interesting ones. Though I think he comes across as too goofy at times, and especially in the later games we don't see his development shine through at the expense of a good joke. In the fourth game in particular, Phoenix is particularly unlikeable. He comes off better in the fifth and sixth games, but I still feel like for someone who gets a statue of them, he should be a bit more imposing. Even if its at the expense of him only being a mentor. Phoenix can turn just about any case around. But too much of the time he's flying by the seat of his pants. I feel like the gameplay doesn't need that from Mr. Wright. His best moments come from the first couple of games, such as when Godot sees him and Mia's spirit at the same time. That's one of the better moments for Phoenix, and I think it sort of finishes his development as a character. It's just too bad they undid so much for the sake of a new character. I get that the game's humor is important to its identity. But it also has its very serious moments, and I think the games need to take Phoenix a little more seriously.

The Boss
The Boss is a tragic character. Finding out at the end of the game that this was her mission all along: To be defeated, to lose... it's very powerful. The final battle with her is easily the best moment of the game, and probably the best fight too. She shows her capabilities as a soldier. I wish we could get a Metal Gear Solid game set before MGS3 where you play as The Boss. I'm actually surprised we never got one. But we probably never will now. I'm not sure Konami even makes games anymore. She sets up Big Boss in a very complex way as we start to understand his motivations. The fact that she's Ocelot's mother is just icing on the cake.

Miles Edgeworth
Edgeworth completes his character arc in the first game, but then we get him at his best in the second and third games. Unlike Phoenix, Edgeworth tends to live up to his reputation. And his friendship with Wright is one of the strongest in the series. I've never played any of the Ace Attorney Investigation games, so I'm not sure what he's like there. I can only speak of experience from the Ace Attorney games. He develops a lot as a character, and in a realistic way. Though I think his brief stint as a Defense Attorney may be my favorite part he has to play. One has to wonder what the series would be like if Edgeworth had become a defense attorney instead. Maybe we'd have Edgeworth, Wright & Associates. Though his role is diminished in the later games, I think it gives his character a chance to really carry his weight.

Mario
Mario is a character who doesn't have much story, but his actions in game speak to his character. While he's not one of my favorite characters, even in his own games, Mario is still the likable avatar of an incredible series. I think some of his personality comes out more in the Paper Mario games (and in Super Mario RPG, particularly with his transformation into different characters). In games where you can play as other characters, I tend never to pick mario. Usually it's Peach or Rosalina. But he's always there when Princess Peach needs him, which is pretty often. He's played a lot of roles over the years, too. From referee to Kart Driver to so many other things. Mario is an icon more than anything. And I don't think anyone is more emblematic of Nintendo as he is. I also really enjoyed the Chris Pratt movie. The cartoon was good, too, though. I remember watching the cartoon as a kid. The original movie though... yeah, we won't get into that.

Agent 47
I've only briefly played a Hitman game. The idea behind it really interests me. Being able to choose how to complete each mission. And the way Agent 47 is able to seamlessly blend in with everyone. I just wish I was better at them so I could actually get further. Our bald assassin is an interesting character, and I think I prefer him to Ezio and Altair. I don't know much about his character otheriwse though, and I don't want to look it up so as to not spoil myself. But I think being an assassin is really cool.

Winston Payne
Wow lots of Ace Attorney Characters! I don't like Winston. He's better than Gaspen, mind you. But Winston is arrogant, and without good reason. The 'rookie crusher' hardly ever actually wins. He's really annoying, but at least the tutorial cases are short. He doesn't get much development because he's just a tutorial character there to teach you how to play the game in case you haven't before. For a rookie crusher, he's not very impressive.

Return of the Obra Dinn
I've seen images of this game before, but never knew what it was about. The concept seems pretty cool, It sounds a little like Phoenix Wright meets Life Is Strange with the watch mechanic. I think the name isn't very descriptive, because I couldn't have guessed what it was about from the name alone. You really need the story trailer to sell the game.

Tokimeki Memorial: Taisen Puzzle-Dama
Looks like a Puyo Puyo style puzzle game similar to Kirby's Avalanche or Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Those games can be fun, but I prefer Tetris and maybe Dr. Mario. But Puyo Puyo games can be fun too.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
If not for board 8, I probably never play this game. I mean it's the kind of thing I'd find interesting, but I feel like it's too limited in scope to really hold my interest for too long. But I love the characters. I think that's the strength of Ace Attorney. Good characters, with a decent story. I don't think the individual cases were ever really super compelling, but the overall story and evolution of the characters and the relationship between Edgeworth and Phoenix Wright makes up for it. And really, the tutorial case is brief at least. I think the first game probably has the best set of cases of the series. The game also has great music. I don't see myself ever replaying the game, but maybe watch my kids play it some day. The gameplay is okay for the most part but not super engrossing. The best part is finding that contradiction and cornering the witness. I'm not a fan of the investigation portions of the game much. Especially when it's not super obvious what you should do. But I think the first game balanced that better than the later games. I feel like Ace Attorney is at its best when its short and doesn't try to drag things out too much. And i think Von Karma and Gant are fantastic villains that I'm not sure the series ever manages to recapture (although maybe it comes close in the third game...)

White Girl
I watched a video, and... I'm still kind of confused lol. But I don't think the video shows it very well, and your explanation is probably better. Don't think it helps that they go through the instructions so quickly on the video. Also it was hard finding any other videos because searching White GIrl on youtube (PC) does not bring up this game very much.

Samurai Western
Looks like Red Dead Redemption meets Warriors Orochi. Also thought this was familiar, but it was Rising Zan. Honestly, I think this game looks better for a Samurai Western game. But they were a few years apart. Surprisingly not made by the same company though!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance
The graphics are really impressive! It actually looks kind of neat. And it looks like it has a second game coming out. Medieval stuff really interests me (especially since I recently started teaching World History, instead of just US and European History). But I've always really liked swords. My husband used to have a collection of them until we had kids, at which point we got rid of most of them. A game I might check out if I see it on sale some time.

Country Justice
What I imagined: Phoenix Wright, but on a farm. What I got: Something terrible. The graphics are awful. I'm pretty sure they've made flash games that look better than this. Now I just want a Phoenix Wright Farm Simulation game.

Sonic Generations
I didn't grow up on Sonic. But I did play the first three games eventually, and a little of Adventure 2 on Gamecube. I've also played Mario and Sonic. Never played generations though. But it looks fun for a 3D 2D platformer. Still more of a Mega Man girl myself, though. He's the true blue hero!

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
This game was kind of disappointing. I mean it was fun while it lasted, but I feel like it's pretty much dead now. Some people play it, but I don't imagine it's fun anymore. Such a shame the devs did such a poor job. It was nice of you get this game for us, though. And I enjoyed it while it lasted. It's put me off of Killer Klowns, though. I feel like playing Killer was too difficult. And it was never very rewarding. Especially when playing with randoms. Like.. you needed a good dedicated group to enjoy this game. Also lobbies were very painful. People would leave, enter, leave enter, then you'd get kicked. I don't even have this installed on PS5 anymore.

Planetside
Could only find anything on the second game. Looks like a kind of generic space shooter. With invisibility that looks like it'd be awful to deal with in multiplayer. Looks like the game came out in 2003! Gosh, my internet back then definitely wouldn't have handled it. I think we were still on 56k! Internet was so slow back then. Of course, I remember 28kbps. Which was MISERABLE.

Glover
I've heard of this game, but never played it. Looks like a typcial 3D platformer during the N64 days. I don't think Glover ever took off even at the same level as Crash Bandicoot. I can kind of see why though. The name isn't super inspiring even if it's very descriptive. The ball changing abilities seems like a pretty cool idea. I think I remember seeing the box in stores a few times, but it never drew my interest.

yiik
Not a fan of the music in the trailer. It doesn't look very fun. I feel like they went super artsy, but then never really did anything else. Nothing in the trailer makes me think "Oooh, that's neat." It's just sort of there. IDK. Maybe it's just a bad trailer. But it doesn't look like much to me.

Dead by Daylight
A friend of mine got me into this game. I've never played a game that's made me miserable as much as I have Dead By Daylight. The game is fun, but it's also very frustrating. No matter which role you play. Either you're a survivor who gets tunneled out or camped at 5 gens, have teammates who give up on the first hook, and a Nurse flying at you with Tinkerer, and 3 slowdowns. Or you're a killer just trying to do a daily against a SWF that thinks they're Team Eternal complete with clock callouts. I think too many people take the game seriously. So it's not one I can recommend to others. But it has a lot of great horror characters, and adding Vecna from D&D was really cool. They've basically addicted crack in video game form. People say they're going to quit, but they never do. Doesn't matter how miserable they are, they come back. Because they keep adding new stuff. "I'm going to quit playing." "BTW We're adding Castlevania" "Okay, you had me at Castlevania." I think it's a sunk time and money thing. It also helps that the more you play, the more you can get for free with iri shards. I still enjoy playing with my friends though. We enjoy suffering together.

Gourmet Sentai Bara Yarou (Gourmet Warriors)
I expected a Dynasty Warriors style cooking game. Instead it looks like a beat em up. I never heard of thsi game either. Also there totally should have been a character who fights with a frying pan. There might be, but I didn't see it at my brief look at it.

Baba is You
For some reason I was expecting Baba Yaga. Instead it looks like a sheep solving puzzles. Not what I expected at all to be honest. It looks pretty neat, if a bit simple. I haven't played as many indie games as I should have. It's not that I don't like them, it's that I never hear about them until it's too late.

The Void (PC)
Some very revealing shots in the trailer. Not sure what to make of this game. Survive is the only other thing I really came away with. It looks interesting, at least.

Slay the Spire
Another game where I feel I'd get lost with all the cards. The music is very good, though. At least what was in the trailer. Only game I've ever played where you battle with cards is Chain of Memories, and I didn't enjoy that very much. I'd probably be really bad at this one.

Genetos
Looks kind of like Space Invaders with a variety of different types of graphics. I was never very good at those sort of games either. I think having different kinds of graphics is a neat concept, though. Especially for a game like this. Would help the game keep from becoming boring.

Plok
My mother-in-law was obsessed with this game. I liked the character of Plok, and how he threw his limbs. I don't think I ever beat it. I'm not sure if we still have this game here, or if it's at my in-laws house. I haven't pulled my Super Nintendo out since moving. It wasn't a game I thought about much until now, though. It was pretty fun. But I didn't play it until much later, so it was harder for me to get back into.

Bucky O'Hare
Never played, but I think I remember my older brother playing this. Because the name is really familiar. Or maybe there was a cartoon based on it? I just can't place why this feels so familiar. But I know I've never played it because I think I'd remember that. And I know we don't own it. So maybe my brother has it if we owned it (we might have rented it. My dad and older brother would rent games a lot growing up, which meant I usually didn't get to try them. But we also bought some games, but my brother got most of them. I got the pac-man arcade machine though. So I can't complain.)

Deltarune
This was free, so I downloaded it. But I'm always putting it off because I know it's not finished yet. I don't think I got very far. But it was pretty clever in the beginning with how you don't get to name yourself or even pick what you look like. . It's a deconstruction of a lot of things. Did not realize until later that this was an anagram of Undertale. Didn't even realize they were related until after playing Undertale (I played Undertale first, though.)

Final Fantasy Tactics
This was one of the first games I beat after moving in with my husband. I didn't think I'd like it because I thought the game looked kind of slow, but ended up loving it. The story is one of the best in Final Fantasy, with a lot of really great political intrigue. I love the class system, and I wish they'd release the game on a modern console because I'd like to play it again sometime. Though maybe with some quality of life improvements like speeding up the battle. I did play a little of it recently, but had trouble with one of the first battles. Delita was absolutely usless. Algus may be one of the most detestable characters in a video game, up there with the likes of Charmles and Anise. The game also has great music, but that's just par for the course for a Final Fantasy game.

The Cloister by foolmoron
Did you make this game? It looks pretty interesting. A simple puzzle game. I might have to give it a try sometime. I'll bookmark it so I can find it later when I don't have much else better to do. I see it's got some plays on youtube.

Yggdra Union
I'm a huge fan of Atlus games! But I've never heard of this one. The trailer doesn't really tell me much. It looks very anime. A lot of Atlus games do, though. PSP didn't have many games. I think have P3P, and then Tales of the World, and maybe a couple of other games. But it was worth it for P3P alone, and at least you could play on the television.

Bravely Default
Never played! But I own the second game. WHich I haven't gotten very far in. It reminds me of the old school Final Fantasy games. I wish it were ported to Nintendo Switch. I'd probably play it. Though I haven't gotten anywhere in the first game.

Aurora Memoria
Everything in the trailer goes by so fast! The characters have a pretty unique look to them. Though I thoguht this game looked a lot older than it is. It's not even 10 years old! I thought it'd have been about 20 years old going by the graphics. But you can't really judge things by their graphics anymore.

Starcraft
Played, but didn't love. I'm not very good at Real Time Strategy Games. Turn based? Yeah, I love civilization and Final Fantasy Tactics. but when you expect me to keep up with everything else, and especially on keyboard and mouse, which I'm terrible with? I haven't played Starcraft in a good 20 or so years. I'm not sure we even still own a copy. Only thing I remember about the game were the Protoss? Terrans? and Zerg? I hope I got those right.

Crash Team Racing
Crash Bandicoot got his own Mario Kart spinoff. I believe i played it a little, but not very much. By the time I played it I think Double Dash was already out. I liked the Crash Bandicoot games okay though. I can't remember any of the powerups, and only a few of the characters. My husband owned the game, so I ended up playing it, but just a little.

Crash Tag Team Racing
Thought this was a joke, but apparently it's real. It looks like an interesting concept for a kart racer, though I don't think i'd like it because it looks a little action heavy, and I'm not huge on shooting. Can't believe that wasn't a joke lol.

Crash Nitro Kart
This game looks okay for a Mario Kart clone. Though there's only been a few really good kart racers IMO. Mickey's Speedway, Diddy Kong Racing, Snowboard Kids, and the original Chocobo Racing. I think a lot of companies wanted to cash in on what Mario did, but they didn't have quite the same recognition.

Needy Streamer Overload
Looks like it's a visual novel? Some of it looks a little concerning. Like talk of conspiracy theories. Not sure what to think of this one. Never heard of it before now. Sounds like an interesting idea for a game, I guess.

Octopath Traveler II
Own, but haven't played. Took a break from Octopath 1 after doing the first chapter for... I think half of the characters. I enjoyed it enough to buy the second game, but then just got into other games. I have so many things on my backlog. My husband has played it though. So at least one of us did. So it's not money down the drain even if I don't get to it. But I'd like to!

Suikoden V
I was a Suikoden fan when Suikoden IV came out. So naturally we bought Suikoden V. My expectations weren't very high. The gameplay is kind of weak. But the story is one of the better stories in a game. So many emotional moments. The game really knows how to make you feel. Poor Princess Lymsleia. She's probably one of my favorite child characters in video games. The Queen's knights are excellent characters, and the Godwins are despicable. And the music is fantastic. The war battles were fun too.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky
I'm not much into handheld games, and I only really played the mainline pokemon games until Legends Arceus. The concept of this always interested me though. They have Rescue Team DX on switch. But it got bad reviews, so I've never thought about buying it for myself or my kids. (My daughters LOVE pokemon. We've been watching the anime, and are almost done with sun and moon.)

My Time at Portia
I've only played a little bit of this, but it was a pretty neat concept. I got it for like $10.00, so I can't complain. The graphics are pretty nice, and the gameplay is pretty fun. I'm not sure who I like of the marriage candidates the most yet. Maybe Emily. Sonia is another possibility. I might play this a little more this summer while I have off. Though I also need to get through some other stuff like FF7Rebirth and Baldur's Gate 3.

Stardew Valley
This is my comfort game. I played this a lot last year before we had to move. I've only ever married Penny, Abigail and Haley. The guys I was never too interested in, and they're hard to find sometimes. I play on Switch, so I don't have access to mods. I feel like after a while the game gets a little stale, and you need to start over to reignite the excitement. I have a farm with a ton of ancient fruit growing, including the island filled with it. But it got to the point where it was boring to even pick the fruit and I'd leave it for a couple days just so I didn't have to go back. Last time I didn't even get to the point where I got married, but I wanted 10 hearts with everyone first. Early clay farming makes some decent money to get started, and it's always fun seeing how early I can get to the bottom of the mines. Iri Sprinklers help a LOT. Played a little driving all the way from VA to CA. Well I wasn't driving, I was riding. But it helped pass the time on those interstates where there's not much to see. I think I have like 10 million saved up in the game, and could easily double that quickly. Lots of barrels of wine, and aging wine.

Tales of the World: Reve Unitia
I've only ever played Tales of the World: Radiant Historia, and it lost my interest pretty early. This is the type of game that SHOULD appeal to me. A crossover between Tales characters. but it just doesn't quite work out. Plus as I've said, I'm not much for handheld gaming. There's nothing wrong with it, I just don't like it much. Though the Switch has turned me around on it some, so I think the screen size was at least somewhat of an issue.

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2
Looks like a rhythm game. I like Hatsune Miku: Project Future Tone. I'm not good at it though, so I don't play too many rhythm games. Not sure how well this would work out on a DS though. The characters look like something from a men in black anime.

Yakuza Kiwami
I've only played Yakuza 0 and Like a Dragon briefly. Well I got pretty far in Yakuza 0. The games weren't anything like I was expecting, and they were a lot of fun. Though I wasn't very good at them. Not that long ago I hadn't even played a GTA game. Now I've played 3, 4, 5 and San Andreas. This is apparently a remake of the first game. Not sure what Kiwami means though.

Little Dragons Cafe
The graphics remind me a bit of My Time At Portia. The gameplay does too. If this game were on sale, I'd probably consider checking it out. But I'm not sure it's worth $60. The reviews on it aren't that good either. Decent, but not great. But then again, most farm sims don't get great reviews. Still, it looks kind of cute!

Rolled Out
This looks a lot like Super Monkey Ball. Never played it, but it looks pretty cool. I never played Super Monkey Ball either. I feel like that's a game my kids would like. Might get it for them. I'd get them this, but it's pc only. And they don't do pc games yet.

DmC: Devil May Cry
I only played the 1st and 3rd game. I never beat either of them, though. Doesn't look anything like the Devil May Cry I remember. I always felt like the series had a lot of potential to have a ton of games. I'm surprised they haven't had more of them! They also made me get Nocturne, which I was never very good at either.

Yo Noid 2
Did they really make a second one? I played the first one. Honestly the NES game looks so much better. I don't really remember Noid as the a mascot for Dominoes. It must have been before my time. The NES game was pretty fun. Like not great, but not the worst ever. But this looks pretty bad. Like Bubsy 3D levels of bad.

Rising Zan: The Samurai Gunman
A western samurai game. It reminds me a little of Wild Arms. Certainly not my kind of thing (though I loved Wild Arms!) I don't think the trailer was particularly well done. Gives real western vibes, and I'm not into westerns much (though I loved RDR2!) Maybe would work better as a movie trailer.

Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep A Fragmentary Passage
Back when I was into Kingdom Hearts, I bought this. I don't think I ever played it though. I like Aqua a lot, though. She was my favorite in Birth by Sleep. I intended on playing this before Kh3, but then KH3 came up so quick.

Tales of Xillia
Never played. Lol that's a joke, obviously. Elize Lutus is obviously one of my favorite characters. I gave one of my daughters the middle name Elize because of it. The dynamic between her and Teepo is one of the most interesting dynamics in a game. I liked most of the cast, which I couldn't even say for Tales of the Abyss (Darn you Anise!) Elize is my favorite of the group, though. The fact that Teepo only speaks her inner mind makes a replay very interesting. You get a good sense of who Elize is through Teepo, and that was a twist that I didn't see coming. It's not hard to feel bad for Elize when she learns the truth that the only friend she had in life was just her own inner thoughts and emotions. Xillia has some good humor, fun gameplay, a great cast, and a solid story. I also really liked collecting materials. It was just so satisfying for some reason. Also it was super easy to level up. It's not my favorite tales game, but it's definitely up there. Elize, Leon, Luke, Pascal and Grune are probably my top 5 Tales characters.

Radiata Stories
I love Radiata Stories! It'd be nice if they ported it to PS5. The story is funny, the characters are pretty endearing. There's a lot of them, but a lot of them are memorable. Elwen, Jack, Ridley, Ganz, Morgan, Lily, Gerald, Jarvis, Daniel, Gil, Cordelia, Miranda, and so many others. I liked the dueling system, where you could kick people. And the town of Radiata was so incredibly lively. A game this silly has no right to make me cry, but it did! When Jarvis and Daniel come to try to get Jack to rejoin them after he joins the non-human path! The start is a bit slow, but I like games with a slow start. The gameplay was pretty fun, though I wish every character would be playable. Also the bonus dungeon was a lot of fun. I liked the concept of the guilds, though I wish they had gone into them a little more.

Undertale
I'm not good at bullet hell games, so I only played the pacifist route. But I enjoyed the characters a lot more than the gameplay. I don't think I'd ever do a genocide route. Happened to get this game when it was on sale, and didn't regret it. It has some really great music too. The graphics kind of turned me off, admittedly. But they grew on me, and have their own kind of charm. Never thought it'd be a game I actually liked, but I have to say I did!

Reah
This game reminds me a bit of stargate, at least the little I watched of the video I found on it. I wasn't watching 22 minutes, sorry. It was kind of hard to look up because Youtube thought I meant reach. But a stargate video game sounds cool! Though I'm more into Battlestar Galactica myself.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
Never played Baldur's Gate before. But I own BG3, and want to get to it soon. If you had told me I owned a digital only game a couple years ago, let alone one as big as BG3, I"d have called you crazy. Mainly because our internet was so slow. Like 3.4 mbps. Now that we've moved we get like 300 mbps. The jump between 2 and 3 looks pretty crazy, though I guess that's what happens when you go 24 years between games.

Slice & Dice
Never heard of this game. I don't think I've ever played a Rougelike, but I've meant to play hades, which I think is one. I think I'd have trouble keeping up with this one, but it looks pretty neat, and the youtube videos call it underrated. So I'll take their word for it!

Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door
This is a game that took me a while to get into, but once I did I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure it was as good as the original. I got my daughter the remake for her birthday. I have to help her with it though. My favorite partner is probably Vivian. And I'm glad they made the change they did so she's officially trans now! Not sure I'd have bought it if not for her though.

Minesweeper
I never really understood minesweeper. I feel like a lot of it is guessing. I've only won a few times on easy. It's one of those games that's easy to forget.

Cuphead
Never played, but it looks cool. But I've also heard how hard it can be, and I don't have much time for difficult games anymore. I like a challenge though, don't get me wrong. I just don't like losing over and over again. I like the art style a lot, though!

League of Legends
A lot of the trailers for this game are cinematic. I'm not a fan of when games do that, cause I don't know what the game is like then. I've never played any MOBAs before. I have at least heard of this one, though.

Code Atma
Is this a mobile game? I'm not a fan of mobile games. There's a few I play, but not many. I feel like most of them are ripoffs looking to make a quick buck by giving you a little for free. There's some exceptions out there, though. But still... If I'm going to play a game on a phone, it's going to be a simple puzzle type game.

Atlantis no Nazo
Never heard of this game. But even for its time I don't think it looks that good in terms of graphics. It's kind of basic. It's not like Mega Man or Mario, where you instantly recognize what a level from one of those games are or is supposed to be. The music isn't great either.

Hypnospace Outlaw
This also looks like it was made on LSD. The concept sounds weird.. surfing the internet while you're asleep? That's what 'not sleeping' is for!

Voodoo Castle
This looks like one of those text-based DND games. I've only dabbled a little in Dungeons and Dragons though, and it's been a long time (and it wasn't really Dungeons and Dragons we made up our own rules.) I don't think I've ever played a text-based game before unless you count Oregon Trail.

Phantasy Star 2
I've only briefly played the first Phantasy Star. It reminds me a bit of Dragon Quest. But I could never really get into it. Maybe I just waited way too long to get into it. Because it seems like it'd be my thing! I really like Star Ocean and Star Wars. i think I played the first one as part of some Genesis Collections. Not sure which one though.

Overroid
I'm not much for Card games. Well except Solitaire and maybe Triple Triad and Queen's Blood. Gold Fish is okay too. This looks very complicated for me. (I say for me, not to me because I have a hard time understanding a lot of card games for some reason. I could never even understand Pokemon Cards!)

Star Control 2
It's a space game, I think? Assuming I watched the right trailer. Ur-Quan masters? Kind of reminds me a little of space shooting games of which there were a bunch. The aliens look interesting at least! With a lot of variety too. Though some of them look more like monsters. But to us I guess aliens would look like monsters.

Custom Robo
A game with giant robots! The trailer doesn't really tell me much about the game though. It lacks a lot of information that would help sell the game. Like... can you build your own robots? The name custom would imply that, but I don't come away from the trailer with any idea. The cinematics look great for a gamecube game, though.

I cannot find a game by this name. Did you mean SkiFree? I've never heard of it. But it looks like an old atari skiiing game. Looks like it was made in MS Paint. But I'm not sure if that's the game you're talking about.

World of Warcraft
I've never really been into MMORPG's. The only ones I've played are Diablo II and Final Fantasy XIV. I feel like they're kind of a time sink, and sometimes a money sink. WoW looks like it has some interesting characters, though. But I do feel like the monthly charge is a real turn off for me. Money has been pretty tight sometimes. And $12.00/month goes a long ways. It's why I quit FFXIV after a while, even though it was pretty fun at times. I get that they need to keep up their servers, but I feel like other online games do just fine without a monthly fee. I feel they'd do better if the game were free to play, and then they sold cosmetics and new characters on a regular basis. That would also attract and retain more players. And they'd probably end up making more money because more players would be available to buy outfits. But I digress...

Legend of Dragoon
It's been a long time since I've played this game. Probably at elast 20 years. Gosht hat makes me feel so old. I still remember some of the characters names. Melbu Frahma. Dart, Rose, Shana, Miranda, Meru, Haschel? The Green Guy who's name i forget. But he dies. Then gets replaced by another green guy I think? The gameplay was fun. Oh yeah, Lloyd. I remember him pretty well. The other silver haired pretty boy other than Sephiroth. I don't remember much about the plot, though. Something about the moon child. I owe this another playthrough some time. But I have so much on my backlog already.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
I want to play this so bad! I love Suikoden. And this looks pretty fun. Sadly I haven't had time. I have to beat Rebirth, and I had to beat Persona 3: Reload before that. And with work... but I'm definitely going to play this in the near future. The main character reminds me a lot of Riou, and the other guy reminds me of Jowy. Six character combat will be nice to have again. It reminds me a lot of Suikoden II. Which is a good thing, cause I loved Suikoden II.

Crow Country
Never heard of this, but it looks a lot like a playstation game. Reminds me a little of Parasite Eve. It looks interesting. Looks kind of creepy, and I like some creepy game

Savage Reign
It was actually hard finding anything on this game! There's a max show with a similar name that popped up first. Reminds me a lot of Street Fighter, though. One of the characters is even named Chung, which isn't far from Chun Li.

Russian Roulette
I really should have specified video games. Russian Roulette is not a safe game to play. It's dangerous, and should not be played.

Pokemon RBY
I fell in love with Pokemon pretty quickly. I didn't play it until years after it came out. But I thought the creatures were really cute. In Red and Blue my final team was Blastoise, Sandslash, Marowak, Ninetales, Pidgeot and Kadabra (I wasn't able to evolve it). Then in Yellow my final team was Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Pidgeot and Kadabra. My husband (boyfriend at the tiem) had all three copies, so I was able to play on his. Though I played it on the Super Gameboy rather than the regular gameboy. I'm not sure I'd have gotten into it on handheld. The screen is so small! Favorite gym leader is probably Sabrina. It was a pretty easy RPG, and i"m not sure how well it holds up now, but the newer games have carried on its legacly quite well.

Punch-Out (Wii)
This is a fun game! I've beaten it a number of times. Though I don't think our copy works anymore sadly. I liked using the motion controls. It's the only way to play to be honest. Piston Honda gave me a lot of trouble at first, but eventually I was able to beat everyone without much trouble. King Hippo was probably my favorite fight.

Resonance of Fate
Though I own this game and have played it, I gave up on it pretty early. I like tri-ace games quite a bit. They are a spinoff of the company that created Tales. But I could never get the hang of this game. It was too difficult for me to understand. I wanted to like it though.

Persona 5: Royal
This is one of my favorite games! I'm not sure if I like 4 or 5 better though. 4's cast has such great chemistry. But I love the story of 5, and the characters are great, if a bit underutilized. Morgana doesn't tell you to go to sleep as often at least. I wish Kasumi were utilized better. And it'd be nice if in new game + you could use any characters in any dungeon. I think Haru got the worst deal. The game has amazing confidants. Sae is probably my favorite, though. It's hard to decide who to ship Joker with. I like Ann and Makoto both. It's not Futaba though. Love Futaba, but that gets a big no from me. Also not the teacher. As a teacher, that's super inappropriate. But as a gamer, it's kind of funny at least. Though it's a sad state of affairs that a teacher needs to work as a maid part time to make money. Even if part of it is becuase she feels she owes someone else's family money.

Harvest Moon 64
I love Harvest Moon! But this game is a bit dated with its Rucksack system. I always married Karen. I think Back to Nature is the better of the Harvest Moon games, but Back to Nature is just great overall and hard to compete with. There could be better crop variety, but I like all the stuff you can build. Also wish the recipes were more important. I think I 100% this game, otehr than marrying everyone. I like that you can just show Karen your dog for extra hearts. Dog lovers are the best.

Dragon Age 2
I've only played the first game, and never beat it. I own Inquisition though. Still haven't played it yet. It's not that I didn't like Dragon Age. It's that I'd start over with new origins each time, because that was my favorite part. Then I just never got into it much. Didn't help that it was on XBOX 360, and I didn't like playing the 360 very much.

Nier Automata
I didn't really fall in love with this game until I beat it. But that ending song, and the ending was incredible. Though I wish I had backed up my save... lol. I guess it means more that I gave it up completely, though. I liked 2B and 9S. I didn't play on any higher difficulties, mostly because I just don't have as much time for gaming as I used to. The music in the game was incredible. I understand the love people have for it. It's not one of my favorites, but I've definitely listened to Weight of the World several times.

UN Squadron
A Super Nintendo Capcom game I've never heard of. I'm not much into side scrolling shooters, though. From what I've seen from gameplay, it looks pretty impressive for a SNES game.

Victorious Boxers: Ipp's Road to Glory
I have no idea who Ippo is. The only boxers I can name are George Foreman, Muhammed Ali, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Floyd Mayweather. If you can't tell, I'm not really into boxing! Maybe he's just a character made for the game, but he could also be a real boxer for all I know. It definitely looks like a boxing game! I'm more of a punchout fan myself. Ippo looks like Mega Man without the helmet. The facial features are pretty bad, even for a PS2 game.

Yoshis New Island
I've only played Super Mario World 2 and Yoshi's Island. Baby Mario's cries were the most annoying sound. The trailer doesn't show them, so I wonder if they're back for this game. the gameplay looks pretty interesting, though I don't remember SMW2 or Yoshi's Island very well, so I don't know if it's new or not. Been a long time since I've played either of those games.

Danganronpa 1
I've only heard of this game. Looks like Phoenix Wright meets Persona. With a little Doki Doki Literature Club mixed in. Sounds like something I'd like, but I can't bring myself to be too interested. Might watch someone else play it sometime, though! Seems like that'd be fun (and take a lot less time.)

Tetris
I'm not very good at Tetris. But I've played many versions of the game. I think Tetris Effect might be my favorite. I think I've gotten 1st place all of once in Tetris 99. Tetris Effect though has great music! One of the best soundtracks. It's a simple game, but that makes it really easy to play. My kids love playing it! Though they only play Tetris 99. I like it better when you can hold, because then there's a little more strategy, and you get screwed by randomness less. Tetris is probably the king of puzzle games, and with good reason. I'm not sure there's anything that even comes close!

Casette Beasts
This looks like an interesting pokemon-like. Especially with the ability to combine monsters. It looks like a game pokemon could learn a lot from. I do wish the trailer focused a bit more on what your goal is in the game, because it doesn't really seem to give you much idea, focusing instead on being able to transform into monsters and combine them. Which is definitely an awesome concept. But that's mostly what I came away with.

Team Fortress 2
Another game I've never played that's very popular. Each class looks really interesting, though. I can't imagine how some of them work though without seeing them in action. I think I actually own this game. Because I own Orange Box for XBOX 360. But I don't think you can play it offline. And I could never get my 360 online. Well not never. But it was really difficult.

Project Zomboid
Never heard of this game. I'm not much of a pc gamer. But this looks really cool for a zombie survival horror game! It's like the sims mixed with zombies. Would love to see it come to consoles, but I don't think it'll happen. It looks like a lot of fun.

Ori and the Blind Forest
I've never played this, but the game looks beautiful! Like, absolutely stunning. Too bad it's only on XBOX and Switch atm. I'd totally probably get this on PS5. But I'm concerned about how it would run on Switch. Love the art style.

Animal Well
Never heard of this game, but it only came out recently so that's probably why. The music sounds great! And it looks retro, and sort of gives me Undertale vibes.

Banjo Kazooie
I never heard of Banjo Kazooie until well after it came out. But even still, I was able to enjoy the game. It aged pretty well. I like the idea of being able to transform Banjo into different creatures depending on the world. The only thing I really didn't like was the swimming controls. I struggled a lot with those. But the humor in the game is fantastic, with the rhyming witch. Gruntilda, she can be a total bitch. This game I like, it's really fun! But I don't see much reason to return to it, once its done. The replay value, just isn't there, for the bird and her bear. Still I'd say it took the formula provided by Mario 64 and improved on it in so many ways.

Mario Party 3
I played Mario Party 1-4, then never again until Mario Party Superstars. But it was a couple years after it was released. I felt like 3 was a bit less bullshit than Mario Party 2. Mario's Puzzle Party is probably my favorite four player game, but messy memory is great too. I've never been a fan of any of the 3v1 games, because I feel like they're usually horribly balanced. And Eatsa Pizza is probably my favorite 2v2 game. I liked the different boards, too. Been a long time since I've played a mario Party other than Superstars, though.

Mario Bros 1
This was actually not my first video game! And my first game was on the NES. My older brother and dad were into gaming, and they always said Mega Man 2 was too hard for me. So that was my first game. (And I beat it, and have since beaten it a hundred times or more). But I have also played Mario 1, but after Mega Man 2, it wasn't much of a challenge. But it's still such a great designed game. I tried speedrunning this game back in college, but I never got close to one of the world records. I also tried beating it with my eyes closed, but could never get past the second level. The warp skip is cool, but I actually like playing through all of the levels. Mario 1 is definitely a classic. Mega Man is still better though :p

Outer Wilds
You know, I keep confusing this game with Outer Worlds. They were both released in the same year too! And they have similar names. The game looks like it has some really unique worlds to explore. And the graphics have a nice style to them. I can see why it's so popular. Not sure why I never tried it. Maybe if it goes on sale some time I will check it out!

Jet Grind Radio
I never owned a Sega Dreamcast. I never even knew about Sega until High School. I've heard of the game before, but had no idea what it was about. Looks like it's about skating though. Which is definitely not my thing. I actually thought it might be a rhythm beat em up game for some reason.

Rock Paper Scissors
I've played this a LOT. Believe it or not. I still don't get why paper beats rock! A rock would totally smash through paper. I mean it already smashes scissors. Paper is just paper! I get for balancing reasons something has to beat rock. I'm just not sure why it's paper! Also a lot of video games use this sort of triangle in different ways. I think Suikoden probably has my favorite. Paper covering rock just makes no sense though! It's just covered up.

Dueling Firemen
Another game I must say I've never heard of. The people in the trailer are super uncanny valley. It's a very 90's commercial. Actually looks like something made by David Lynch for Twin Peaks. Also the mention of Timothy Leary makes me think this was made on LSD.

Lost Kingdoms
I've never played this, but I vaguely recall hearing about it. The trailer doesn't give me too much of an impression to be honest, it moves so very quickly. Looks like it's a FromSoft game though, which makes me think of Dark Souls, and wonder how a remaster would do. No idea if they're similar in any way though!

Super Adventure Island
I've actually played this one! I think I prefer the NES games, though. II and III specifically. I don't like the redesign of Master Higgins. I don't think i ever made it past the second level. Still have a copy of the game. Though I'm not sure our SNES even works anymore. Would like if they released II and III on the Switch. Preferably as part of NSO.

RC de Go
Never heard of this game either! I was never into racing games, other than Kart racers. It's made by Taito, who made quite a few good games though. The trailer doesn't really show much gameplay though.

Fire Emblem Three Houses
This is probably my favorite Fire Emblem Game. 7 was my first foray into Fire Emblem. I think it's that way for a lot of Americans. It wasn't until Path of Radiance that I was really hooked. But Three Houses really appealed to me. I mean for one, as a teacher, I love that you get to be a teacher. I like the concept of the three houses, and all the time you can spend on classes. The gameplay is fast and fun. I've only ever beaten three routes. Still need to do a full Black Eagle Run. The cast is a lot of fun, and it has some elements from Persona (which is another of my favorite series). This is the game that really made me a Fire Emblem fan. I would do a Black Eagle playthrough, but I still need to play Engage some time. I just keep putting it off. Edelgard for life though! (Even if I haven't fully played through her route.)

Peggle
Never played it. Looks like the kind of thing you'd expect out of a free mobile game these days. It's not really my kind of thing. I think I'd rather play breakout, but to each their own!

Fortnite
Another game that isn't really my thing. But I have a lot of students who play this game, and they talk about it a LOT! I get the appeal of it. The dances are pretty cool, and allow for a lot of expression that a lot of games of its type don't do. There's also a TON of crossovers. I heard they're doing a Doctor Who crossover which is pretty cool and almost tempts me into getting the game. I think I'd probably play this if I had friends who played it! I know it's free to play at least. And that's probably also part of the appeal.

Tales of The Abyss
Oh boy, we've talked about this game a lot. It's one of my personal favorite games. And definitely in my Top 5. My first tales game was Tales of Destiny, and I fell in love with it almost immediately. I played Eternia, Symphonia, and even Legendia. Two out of those weren't that good, but then Abyss came, and it wowed me. The game is famous for having a very slow start. For the first three hours, Luke Fon Fabre is the most unlikable protagonist (well except Emil but we won't get into him!) I had ever seen. He's whiny, annoying, and doesn't have many redeeming qualities. But then he gets the best character development I've seen in a video game. They find a way to make you feel sorry for this detestable creature, and by the end of the game it's easy to have fallen in love with him. Everything about those first couple of hours is what drives the rest of the game, and it makes those early hours worth it. I don't think any character has quite as much development as Luke does, and there's a reason he's one of my favorite Tales characters. The game also has an outstanding cast (aside from Anise. We hate you Anise!). From the ever sarcastic Jade to the stern but kind Tear. And the game's ending... it makes you feel something. I still can't watch that final scene without crying! Or the one in which Ion dies. Or the Tower of Rem. And the true brilliance of the score, and how despite Van works to fulfill the prophecy, that it's not the even the prophecy was even referring to! That is some of the most brilliant writing in a game I've ever seen. <3

Final Fantasy VII
Where to start with Final Fantasy VII? It's one of my favorite games. The remake just improves on it. (Of note, I'm naming my soon-to-be daughter Aerith! After who else, but Aerith). I haven't actually played the original Final Fantasy VII in a while. Or at least not past midgar. I bought the game on Playstation 5 so we'd have a copy of the old version to play, and I meant to get around to it, but never did. I also own it on switch just in case I wanna play it while traveling some time. That's how much I like this game. Since this specified the original, I'll stick to it. The original is an amazing game. It's one I almost never played. I wasn't much into RPG's. But this game helped hook me on them. The end of disc 1 is one of the saddest moments in gaming. And it's hard not to fall in love with most of the cast. Even the cranky Cid. I never quite got the hang of the materia system, but I did breed a gold chocobo and who needs to really master materia when you've got Knights of the Round? Also the music is top notch. Some of Nobuo Uematsu's best work easily.

Ghost Trick
Another game I've never played. Actually, I've never heard of it until now! It's from the creators of Ace Attorney, which I really liked. I'm not huge on visual novels personally. It's a game though that I might give a try some time. It's on Switch now, which helps. Might download the demo first, though. Just to see if I'd like it.

Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong-Nou
Another game I've never even heard of! And after watching the trailer... I'm not really sure what I watched? There's a big floating green baby head. Some serpents. And slug monsters? From the trailer, I could only guess what the game is about. Even the name doesn't really help much. If I had to guess it's about some lost souls or something though. Maybe you have to find them? That's just a guess though!
