the other day i was dozing off and as my brain was drifting into some imagination brainstorming i sudden had a vivid inspiration of some unique kind of old man monster-y character so i suddenly woke back up with the energy to want to draw it before i forget

... not that much energy to turn on the lights and grab a notebook + pencil mind you, so i just grabbed my phone and doodled the general idea and maybe i could understand enough to draw legit when i'm more alert

so now i'm alert staring at this bizarre phone finger doodle



(i also like how i was too tired to open a sketching app, so i just opened a text notepad, screenshotted a blank page, and then just drew over the screenshot of the blank page >_>)

basically i was flipping through the new Bravely art book and couldn't help but notice the tiny stub feet and thought GTM

"Once a skill has been learnt it is always active, regardless of whether it is in your current active skill tree or not."

So yeah all the skills are active once they're learned, the Active branch is just about which one you're leveling. Well, that and also each branch a gives certain bonus when it's the active branch, and the bonus is based off of how many skills in that branch you've learned.

Eg. Shulk's skill tree Intuition gives +2 Agility initially, +5 Agility after the first skill is learned, +15 Agility when the fifth/final skill is learned. But only when that branch is active, so when you switch to Humanity you are no longer getting Intuition's agility boost.

... But if you're only filling up the trees then I take it that's a no on the Skill Linking. Uhhh what button was that *googles*

That, for you to share a select few of a character's skills with another, at the cost of Affinity Coins (which you gain for each Unique Monster you defeat, and each level you gain). By "cost" I don't mean that it's a permanent cost, you de-equip a link and you of course get back the Affinity Coins it cost...

As I said, the greater the character's affinity to each other the more skills they can link, but you also have to take note of the shape of the skill too. No character links with diamond-shaped skills since those are meant to be unique to a character, like Riki's Buy Stuff skill that lets you sell things for 20% more $$$. Also Fiora can't learn any Spikey-shaped skills since that's what all the medium/heavy equipment skills are.

oh right, without Skill Linking you haven't been able to wear heavy armour for a bunch of characters or even I think Medium armour on Riki >_>... Funny since Melia has a skill that boosts Ether defense from Heavy armour, but she can't wear heavy armour unless you link that skill to her from like Sharla, Reyn, or Dunban!

During a conversation with Dsire it is revealed that her father was a man named "Xord" and that he ran a company known as Xord Smithy. He was a fine blacksmith and was killed in the Battle of Sword Valley. It is highly alluded that he was the Homs used to create the Faced Mechon Xord. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U also backs up this theory in Xord's collectible trophy.

If you talk to her before Xord IIIRC she says without naming anything about her dad dying in last year's invasion, and then after beating Xord is when she drops his name and talks about his work.

Her sidequest story you help her decide if she wants to be a soldier or a sculptor.

You could find out who Xord is right after you beat him. Even before you face him there's a little hint too.

I might say Prison Island was the ~40% mark and joining party is about the ~60% mark

... a bit tricky to judge depending on your exploration, but the phase between Prison Island to Fiora has less exploration so it may go by quick

bot basically picks random posts from that page (replace GenesisSaga with other bots copied accounts)... also that page provides a different output that contains topic/post info if read by bot ('Gmunbot' user agent)

my first thought was that maybe Gen is less active so it fails to pick up posts from certain logs which she might not exist in (namely the old lurker site's log before Genny was a B8er) but then I realized I have a measure for that

when loading that page it first selects a random database to search posts for (lurker, main, log1, log2, etc), and if there are no posts by the user in that log it it keeps track of failed database hits by setting them in POST data and reloading the page... you can see for yourself searching Zea_Destroyer which should only have active messages in the lurker database (inv0)

so if that's not it, it must be the post filtering on the bump script side -- where it blocks posts from Vlado topics, politics topics, Save-My topics, or simply posts that are too long (over 500 characters)

bot attempts to get a post 10 times (each time will always find an existing post, thanks to the aforementioned POST measures), but if bot can't find a post that isn't filtered out by those rules within 10 attempts, it gives up and posts the unable message instead

... GenesisSagat's issue is that most of Genny's posts are in Save My threads, so she fails a lot.
