I've read about rumors and "studies" that run the gamut - with many claiming that they are more conservative than Millennials, more practical regarding money, and more ready to "hit the ground running" in the labor market. I feel this is largely propaganda. I do not trust teenagers to be confident in their political ideals unless those ideals were hammered into them by parents. They often lack a lot of perspective. Also, the only reason I would consider them more practical with money is because fads nowadays are technology-based, meaning that they have a more considerable base cost to them. And as Gen Z is hitting adulthood, they are seeing a much better economy than when the last of Millennials were hitting adulthood, ~10 years ago. I do believe that they will be a more socially liberal generation than Millennials, but potentially a more divisive one as I see socialism and libertarianism taking off with them. There is a general disrespect for school in a lot of them, which I think is bred by education advocates being unhappy with how things currently are, and by education detractors being what they are. Smart students grow up knowing how to find things, how to get answers from the web. Less-smart continue to resent a system they do not thrive in. They ARE harder to teach... but I think that is an opportunity to revise educational practices. That might not happen though until Gen Z has broke into the teaching field.
