My high school graduation had one valedictorian and three salutatorian. I assume even if weighted and un-weighted grades/GPA were the same, there would be other factors to make one student look "better" than the other (i.e. more extra curricular activities, community services, etc)

Full Throttle posted...
Sherry also said that Jasmine was forced to give her speech AFTER the other student and was told to walk BEHIND her to the podium. She said "A child, when they earn honours, they are entitled to receive them. There is no inclusion in the Cleveland school district. When the district wants something, they just take it"

For odd ball situations like this I would say leave it to the students to come to an agreement on who to speak/walk first. For the walking through, they could have also just walk side-by-side if it makes that big of a deal.

Well said. It's difficult to appreciate what an artist have created if we don't know the meaning behind it. Granted part of the fun sometimes is trying to interpret what the artist was trying to convey.

I would say the usefulness of a degree depends almost entirely on the availability of local jobs and one willingness to move to find said jobs if they are not available locally. Around Los Angeles there are usually some engineer companies hiring. If I go further north to Mammoth for example, it is less likely I find a viable engineering job up there.

College isn't for everyone and I do not mean that as an insult. But rather one need to be realistic about what one can do with said degree and whether one is willing to move to pursue a job with said degree. Unfortunately I think far too many graduates enter with the wrong mindset.

And then networking, most college graduates don't bother networking or looking for internships until it is too late. I have one college friend who graduated as our civil engineer valedictorian and went on to M.I.T. for his Master. He was definitely a smart guy but did no networking or internship. It took him a while to find an engineering job whereas I got other classmates landing civil engineering jobs with cities or major companies before they graduated.

I know owning a gun is seen as a right whereas driving is seen as a privilege. But just like with some actions in this country, act stupid enough times and your rights will also be revoked.

It's kinda like getting a DUI. Driving a two ton vehicle is something everyone should take seriously and if said driver has shown he/she is not capable of that, their license is revoked. Shouldn't the same be done for something like firearms where one should take them seriously?

Aye. The app is definitely useful but the price difference is a huge incentive. Being able to pay with a debit/credit card is another boon I'd say. I recall once calling a taxi dispatcher and being told the driver accepts credit only to find out at the end of my ride that he only takes cash. I was livid that I had to spend another $6 in withdraw fees to get cash from an ATM.

I have used Airbnb twice and am using it again this weekend in Las Vegas. In my opinion they are worth it for the amount of money you save from not going to a motel/hotel. Thus far the host/hostess have the house well furnished. The previous Airbnb I stayed at was amazingly good.

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16534246

My cousins and I stayed there for Memorial Day weekend. It was more than big enough for us 10 adults and seven kids. Plus the kids were able to stay together and play with each other. Us adults ended up paying only about $320 a person which is really good compared to the motel/hotel fees along the Strip for Memorial Day weekend.

My first stay was for eight of us and despite being small and only one bathroom (that was my mistake) it was still sufficient for our needs and was dirt cheap.

Beyond that I would let them make up their own minds and pursue whatever beliefs felt right to them.

I'll probably be the same. Interesting enough, my mentor's mother had him go to a Catholic church and it wasn't until years later when they held the funeral service for his father at a Buddhist temple that he found out his parents are Buddhist. So he was raised as a Catholic but his parents were Buddhist.

His mother's reasoning was that she wanted him to have some sort of moral compass to keep him outta trouble as a kid and the Buddhist temple was simply too far for them. When my mentor's, who is now Buddhist, son wanted to look into Bible classes, my mentor was more than fine with it. He felt his son should be the one to decide which belief is truly for him. In his case though the son grew bored of said classes....
