And technically it wasn't so much a water-drinking contest as it was a "hold your pee" contest. Hence the contest name, "Hold your wee for a Wii."

Thank you for clarifying that.

Alpha Protocol

That one broke my heart. It should've been a big franchise. Loved it so much.

I can agree with yer on that. I kinda saw it as a spiritual successor to Deus Ex prior to Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Overall I enjoyed the game, different builds, approaches, conversations, and reputation with other characters.

On average probably about a gallon if I don't get too caught up with work or video games. I kinda just go with the notion that if my urine isn't clear or close to it, I need to drink more water.

Aren't you only supposed to drink a gallon of water a day? Or is it at least a gallon a day? I'm sure there's some sort of max amount that you shouldn't go over.

I think it is one cup/eight ounces every hour which, assuming 16 hour of being awake, is about a gallon a day.

You can atually drown from drinking to much water: It's called overhydration.
Some man actual drowned a few years ago from drinking 10 liters of Coca Cola.

Are you sure his liver didn't explode from trying to metabolize that much sugar?

Coca Cola might not have been a good example but I heard/read of overhydration/hyponatremia as well. It basically messes up the balance of electrolytes and sodium in your body if it gets too diluted. I think a woman who was in a water drinking contest for a Nintendo Wii yay back did later died of hyponatremia.

Way to show you're a tool by just getting in line and shutting the hell up.

But some of us are thinkers/visionaries and question the legitimacy of the status quo and are rightful for doing so.

This is how trends are changed and updated.

People who have the ability to think and visualize things being a better way, speak out about it and do not just fall into line like cattle.

For something as simple as a gaming/social forum, I am fine being cattle and adhering to the rules to continue to use it. GameFAQs in its current state have served my needs over the 15 years I have used it thus I see no reason to change it.

Of all my concerns in life, the inability to truly express myself on a forum to strangers is the least of my worries. Should I want to change something for the better, I'd do it with something that actually matters but to each his own.

and do you think you represent the experience of most adult posters on here?

You're terribly mistaken if you think so.

I never stated my behavior is the norm among users, I merely stated it doesn't take any effort to be mindful of what we type. If it does, the fault lies with the user. Just because we're adults doesn't mean suddenly we're incapable of something as simple as watching our mouths.

KINDERFELD posted...
Many many times I've been modded for trolling or being off topic and near all the time is silly mods who are children themselves.

KINDERFELD posted...
Ask anyone who posts on other gaming message boards what they think about gamefaqs and near all of them will tell you this place is ridiculous with how utterly brainless the reasons are for the countless moderation you receive on here.

I don't deny some rules are a bit strict or archaic but as children we were taught by our elders to follow said rules. As children we had no other choice but to follow said rules as there were no other alternatives for us.

Now as adults are/should be capable of following said rules and are free to resort to other means should we not agree with those rules. We don't need to agree with the rules, we merely need to follow them.

I know you're suggesting the rules should be changed to keep up with the current users. I am merely stating that is not necessary. If anything we, compared to our younger selves, should be more mature and in control of our behaviors and actions.

KINDERFELD posted...
Only recently we were allowed to cuss.

But there is so much censorship that occurs on this website to the point that you'd believe that its a majority of kids lurking on the message boards and not full adult men and who who work and pay taxes.

How does being an adult suddenly make cussing so normal that we must have it in our everyday speech? Are users incapable of using other words to express their emotions and can only resort to certain words? Like I stated earlier, it doesn't take any effort to watch our mouths. Hell, you have to physically type out the word. I can understand accidentally verbally blurting out the words but to type it out impulsively and say it is because we're adults now?

And by this you mean what exactly? It doesn't take any effort to be mindful of what we type. If it does, I think the problem lies more with the user than with the rules of these forums. I'm almost 34 years old and have been modded only three times since I started using GameFAQs in 2002, two related to spoilers and one related to emulation. Not once has it be related to the words I used or anything that is inappropriate for a younger audience.

I'd admit though, despite being guilty of it myself sometimes, it baffles me the amount of effort people put into these argument with stranger(s) who has no bearing on our personal lives. In my case it is a mix of my ego and actually trying to understand the opposing side's mentality. Majority of the time though there is nothing to understand except for me to just accept everyone have different opinions and preferences. But some folks seem to go the whole nine yards just to try and prove a stranger, that they will probably never see in their lives, wrong. To what purpose other than for their own ego is beyond me.

I do feel sorry about them to some degree. I can only assume they need a certain quota of calls or sales made per day but I'd imagine majority of the time people either don't answer the call or if they do, the majority of that just turn down the sale pitch.

They're just gears in the machine. It is the folks running the machine that bothers me. Supposedly telemarketers are not suppose to call cellphones but about a year or two ago I have been getting two or three calls each day on my cellphone.

Personally for me I usually greet them and let them say something before turning down their offer. Half the time they ask if I'm the home owner and I just tell them I'm not and cannot authorize any purchase. They always follow up asking when the home owner will be available and I would just tell them the owner will call them back.

Lyndis in Fire Emblem

The only thing she has going for her is her speed; Lyn can't tank two hits in HHM, her strength growths are shaky, and she's sword-locked. I don't really think of her as a good unit.

I figure she was the fast type but even then the RNG screwed me over and hardly gave her any speed during level ups.

I dunno...maybe any game with random stats gain? I enjoyed the Fire Emblem series but the RNG screwed over Lyndis in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. My friend was actually surprise how weak Lyndis was in my game compared to his. Of course I could always overlevel to make up for that but it still stung how bad her stats gain were due to the RNG.

I'm not against it being made the official language but at the same time I am not for making it a requirement either. I don't deny being able to communicate is very important especially when one's culture is different but not everyone have the opportunity to learn a new language in their home country prior to immigrating anywhere.

Some measures are already kinda in-place to encourage/force people to learn the language whether it be for a job or to get certified in something. Hell, some folks immigrating over might be on par, if not better, with some skills than the people already living here. The only barrier would be the language.

On a completely different side note, I found it interesting and a little funny that the official language(s) in Firefly was English and Mandarin. Somehow the developers those those as the two most prominent languages.

Seoul is already targeted with enormous amounts of conventional artillery that would level the city in a second.

My coworker and I briefly talked about this. He said we just recently sent in a bunch of new equipment to augment South Korea's defense. I wasn't sure if he meant the THAAD weapon system or something else but when I asked if said defenses can stop artillery shells he said yes.

I'm not that savvy when it comes to military weapons but conventional artillery are just explosive shells, aren't they? What would actually intercept a slug of metal loaded with explosives?

I am not 100% sure if it's a problem but I'd say we do have a gun obsession as a whole. I don't own any guns but I am a registered NRA RSO that I utilize when volunteering at Scouting events. Funny enough, the other volunteers usually assume I own a gun(s) but I just tell em I am just volunteering to contribute to the Scouting program.

What I find interesting is when not referring to the Amendment for their reason, some/many say it is for their own protection. It's apple and oranges but I can't help but wonder how some countries seem fine without this gun craze among its citizens while we as a whole seem it is a "must-have".
