Yes, actually. Some guys cant grow every aspect of a beard. For example, I cant really grow the connectors that bridge the mustache and the sides, and the very center part of the stache comes in real light. I have that break in the center

Yay or Nay?

Personally, Ive always found that look to be kinda strange. If its a full beard, its got that Dutch whaler kinda look. If its a chin beard, you get that douche kinda look. The presence (or lack thereof) of the mustache really changes the overall presentation. Yet, some guys can pull it off regardless. I feel like the mustache is a good counter balance to the overall look. The beard seems naked without it.

Thoughts? Is the mustache essential for a solid beard? Only certain styles, maybe?

My uncle had rotator cuff surgery and he said it was hell to go through. Howd you bust your shoulder and your collar? Car accident?

I still feel it, just doesn't hurt. I couldn't tell you why, specifically, other than teens having incredible healing. And yes, right away. Moving furniture or playing vidya, all works the same. You should be good as long as you take care of that arm, but remembering this stuff reminded me to also take care of your neck. Something about shifting all the work to your other arm can really cramp it up.

Wow. So you were pretty young initially when you had your fall. How long has it been since that accident? Also, did the reduced pain happen slowly over time?

I appreciate the insight. This is exactly what I was looking for. When this happened a second time, I had so much dread at the thought of my shoulder just failing whenever. I know it doesnt mean it will, but it just hung over me like a shadow.

I dislocated my shoulder in high school playing hockey, they didnt recommend surgery at the time to repair the damage. I'm 40 now and still have chronic pain in that shoulder, so take that as you will.

I'd get multiple opinions and then decide, but you need to consider your long term quality of life. Going back, I wouldn't hesitate to get this fixed now.

Was your rotator cuff torn during the accident? Ive heard that is shear misery. Im making the Ortho appointment tomorrow and will give strong thought to it.

I somehow did NOT tear or even damage the rotator cuff in my initial accident, even though I both dislocated and fractured the humerus in the accident.

It pops back in pretty easily, with a shoulder shrug. Doesn't even hurt anymore, and usually happens only when my arm's in an awkward position anyway. Hasn't affected any sort of lifting or punching. Also, I think from shrugging it more often than the other shoulder, I can pop the joint behind the socket, like you would knuckles.

So youve become numb to it? Wow. Still hurt for me, but not nearly as much as the first time.

So you can resume using it immediately?

I had a total dislocation from a nasty accident with black ice. noticed I couldn't move my arm, so I just pulled it back in, and it sounded like a shitty xylophone raking over my bones. Never went to a hospital, probably should have.

I was still a teen at the time, so it only took about 2 months to heal, and it feels like all the strength is back. But it can still pop out now and then.

tl;dr it's never gonna be fully ok, but it'll be ok enough, tc.

I bet your labrum is torn. You likely also have a Bankart Lesion. Think of it as an organic gasket around the ball thats now loose.

I appreciate your insight and this is kinda what Im looking for. So, when it does pop out, you can pop it back in? Can you move it normally after?

The second incident I had went in WAY easier. The doctor said he was surprised. The initial injury (my fall) was considerably harder. It took three nurses to set it back

A bit over a year ago, I slipped on a staircase and smashed my shoulder against a step. Totally dislocated it. Also fractured the humerus head. Thankfully, with physical therapy, it healed well. I regained almost all of my strength and mobility. Fast forward just over a year to past Friday.

I was swimming (as I have many times since the original injury) and while strafing in the water I heard and felt a loud crunch. My shoulder had wrenched itself out of its socket. Lucky me. I make my way to shore and my friend drives me to the ER.

I havent been able to get to the Ortho yet for an evaluation. Im worried cuz I had thought this issue was behind me. Id been told that most people who dislocate a shoulder due to a traumatic injury are more likely at risk for spontaneous dislocation in the future. Usually due to a dangers labrum or rotator cuff from the initial injury.

My initial injury MRI revealed a few labrum tears, but they told me that with PT, I shouldnt need surgery. Now, Im afraid I will since I have successfully dislocated it again. Ive been googling how to reduce the injury (shoulder reduction is what its called when they put the ball back in the socket) just to prepare for that being a chronic thing. Both times this has happened Ive been stuck with a wrecked shoulder for at least three hours. I dont wanna go through that repeatedly. They cant give you ANYTHING til youre actually back there for the pain, either. You just sit and deal with it.

Ive never reduced my own shoulder. Never thought Id have to. The pain with this second injury is considerably less (probably since I didnt smash it like I did with original injury), so I feel like I COULD move it. However, Im worried itll pop out. Do any of you live with chronic shoulder instability? When it happens, do you just pop it back in and go about your day?

Ive heard good and bad things about surgery, so it worries me. The x ray tech told me she had a friend who knew how to reset his. It popped out during a fishing trip and he quickly reduced it. For those that have done this, can you safely move it? I know its recommended NOT to and you wear a sling, but Im just curious if its chronic how you live with it. The last time this happened, I got absolutely FUCKED by the cost of repeated x rays, and MRI, anesthesia, etc. I cant go through that every time my shoulder fails. So I gotta at least be able to reset it myself if it did happen again.

Im really depressed, lol. All I was doing was swimming. Now, Im terrified to use my arm

I think I know what you mean with the pop. Certain ones do have a weird artificial taste to it that I can pick up on now. Hard to explain the taste distortion, though I can still enjoy it. Its more like an additional sweetness. Thankfully, not the rancid effect you were unlucky to experience.

So, I got the big bad Covid in December. Aside from a brief fever, my biggest symptom was tremendous fatigue for weeks. I eventually got to a point where I was able to move around enough to get back to work.

Id say I completely recovered within about a month (I did nothing but sleep for weeks, lol). However, to this day I have some weird distortion of taste and smell. Its not everything. I can taste most foods. I think. Some stuff definitely feels like its dulled or numb. I do have this weird phenomenon where certain odors and foods smell and taste like Burnt Plastic. Yeah. Thats the best way I can describe it. Ever accidentally melt plastic on a stove top? Lid of butter, perhaps? Basically I smell and taste that.

Eggs and pork for sure have that overwhelming smell and taste. Some other items Im not sure I can detect at all.

Ive heard that some people have permanently altered sensations. Also heard there were aromatherapy treatments that could restore the senses. Has anybody tried these with success?

Its not the biggest issue, but I like eggs and even in foods I can taste, theres at least a minor flavor of that damn plastic in my mouth.

A few weeks ago, I went through a weird phase where even though I wasnt, I could smell and taste what I could only describe as heavy second hand smoke. Even if there was no cigarette around me whatsoever. Would just happen randomly. Felt like my nose and mouth was full of it. Even felt the reflex to try to cough. That has seemingly stopped happening.

So, thats good at least. However, looking for other experiences in hopes Ill regain my senses

I'd chalk that up to Tarantino being stylistic. It'd be pretty tough to actually spit a dart like that, so it would require some kind of special effect which just wouldn't happen in the old school martial arts movies this scene is imitating. The "ping" noise is almost certainly meant to indicate that it's a dart.

Her response is also a little overblown if he's just shoving her off his shoulder. It makes more sense that he hit her with a dart.

Well hes throwing her back while breaking her grip on his neck with just a flex of his upper body. Not even using his hands. Thats fairly significant strength. Dont recall a ping sound. Ill have to rewatch a clip and listen for that.

Its too bad we couldnt somehow just ask Tarantino, huh? Thatd be awesome.

I thought Pai Mei in cinema lore was largely evil? My interpretation of the rock incident was that he was simply offended that she tried to kill him with a rock while his back was turned. Thats the equivalent of getting shot in the back in old western lore. The victor would be shunned as a coward

When he bucks her off, hes doing just that. Watching several times in slow mo, it doesnt appear hes spitting it at her to get her to let go

Loved this movie as a kid, but there was always a scene with Pai Mei that really bugged me. During one part of his fight with Beatrix, she grabs his throat. He chuckles, then essentially thrusts her hand away with just the strength of his upper body.

However, during the chuckle, something briefly protrudes from his mouth. What is it? Video posted here. At 6:00 in, the throat grab happens. Pai Mei pauses, then snickers at 6:02. Something protrudes from the corner of his mouth.

Im well aware Bethesda and Sony dont mix. They seemed to rectify it on PS4. I tried Skyrim on PS3 years after I had played it religiously on 360, and even though it had seen many patches, the PS3 version to me was noticeably choppy and problematic.

Played Skyrim on PS4 and it ran better than ever. My research seems to be turning up that Bethesda just couldnt design them right with the PS3 specifically. I remember Dawnguard was delayed for MONTHS

How does funding your wallet indirectly work? What's a special device setup password?

So you cant put your credit card on the PS3 anymore. Itll let you try, but itll get an error when you save. You gotta fund the wallet of your account on your ps4 or ps5, then load up your ps3 and make any purchases that way.

Before you do this, delete your payment info after funding. If you dont, the PS3 will ask you to check your credentials by entering your card info, and since Sony removed its ability to save the info, itll fail and block the purchase. So you gotta just remove the info, make the purchase, then you can add it back on your account (on your ps4 or ps5)

I played this on the 360 originally. Had a rough launch, but was plenty fine and a lot of fun after a few patches. I read somewhere that the PS3 version suffered some serious problems similar to the Skyrim PS3 years later. Things along the lines of save corruption, items getting buggy, etc. Basically Bethesdas inability to design for the PS3 manifested heavily here (anybody remember the Dawnguard debacle for Skyrim on PS3? Ouch).

Did New Vegas on PS3 ever reach a more functional state?

I played this way back in the day on the 360. Was my favorite game at the time. My 360 is long dead, but Ive been updating my old PS3 library. My friend has an old GOTY Oblivion disc, and I took to the internet to find out if the dlc was on the disc or no.

What I found was apparently PS3 didnt get some of the add ons. I LOVED the Vile Lair. This version never got that? What the hell? Also, apparently the GOTY has a specific bug in it in which vampirism is glitched and incurable. Is this true? Apparently the work around is to simply buy or install the vanilla copy of the game. Can anyone confirm this? I dont wanna buy the vanilla version if that version also has that glitch. Apparently the witch wont accept the ingredients in this version, and since you never get Vile Lair (I remember you could cure vampirism in a special pool), youre equally screwed.
