When people are talking unfavorably about nationalism they are generally not talking about some vanilla pride in your country thing that, while possible to be toxic and regressive, isnt bad in and of itself. generally it isn't the responsibility of people in the street to anticipate that someone is going to willingly and intentionally smash into them using their vehicle like a 1 ton projectile. this is why people who hit people with cars are generally arrested instead of the cops standing above the victims crumpled bodies while clicking their tongues and scolding them about being in the road

if that was happening the situation would have been dicy but correct me if im wrong, no proof has come out that that was underway. theres just a group of people around the car and vague mentions of someone "looming over the hood". there is judging potential harm to yourself, and there is killing people even though you are not actively under attack in any way.

i honestly think even if a cop did this they would have a tough time avoiding prison. the "i feared for my life" excuse doesnt really work with as far as things had progressed in this incident

late in college and shortly after it i started getting incredibly aimless and depressed and relying on alcohol for it.i also binge eat when im really depressed, so those two in conjuction made me feel most days like i was going to keel over and die. i gained a ton of weight.

that was about 6 years ago. i stopped drinking and ive gotten a lot of weight off (especially thanks to corona this year making me way too busy to sit around and gorge). i do now drink occasionally but never when i'm sad and im roughly around the same weight i was before all that got really bad
