Its all about personal perspective. If youre in good health and so are the people you care about are doing okay, you dont have much to worry about when it comes to something like the flu. That is valid.

But if you are like a lot of other people, either you yourself or people you care about and love are elderly, or very young, or recovering from surgery, battling cancer, or immune compromised from other conditions, then those low mortality statistics start to be less and less meaningful because diseases like the flu absolutely have a strong chance of being fatal to all the people in those positions. It is deadly to them and anyone that cares about them.

no mammals are really cut out for endurance running though. The people that do it regularly have to deal with a lot of damage to their body and joints, and its not all that uncommon for a runner to just drop dead.

Im telling you that it has reduced a great deal of it. Ignoring a user often does not stop harassment, it often emboldens the harasser and every time they see your posts they want to try to find a way to mess with you by either making alts or coming up with other creative ways to harass.

Blocking though makes it so that they arent seeing your posts during their normal use of the board. You can just fade from their mind. Yes a user CAN log out and see blocked posts, but most people arent going to bother with that most of the time.

Youre wrong Link. There was a lot of harassment that was going on when there was only an ignore function that has substantially lessened.

Most users arent using a second tab to view the site so they can see posts of people who have blocked them. Nobody has a right to see every post.

getting the flu along with a plethora of any other generally non lethal diseases can easily be deadly. People die of flu and pneumonia combos every day. It clearly fits the definition of a deadly disease.
