The problem with communism is that it doesn't take human behavior into account. What incentive would there be for someone to go to school for 10 years post-high school and become a doctor, just to have the same lifestyle as someone who's flipping burgers at McLenin's?

The desire to help, the desire to learn more about the human body, the desire to have a fulfilling career, the desire to feel important, the desire to master various skills, etc.

Flipping burgers is something that very few people actually would want to do as a career, even with the same benefits as it would only be a time-killer. The person doing it would have no self-fulfillment from such an activity, and people truly underestimate how much people care for things beyond money.

The definition of phobia is either a strong fear or strong aversion. Transphobia and homophobia fall in to the latter.

Is that the DSM 5 definition?

Dictionary definition
phobia
fb
noun
an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.
"he had a phobia about being under water"
synonyms:fear, irrational fear, obsessive fear, dread, horror, terror, hatred, loathing, detestation, aversion, antipathy, revulsion;

Again, what is the DSM 5 definition? The diagnostic manual used for making a clinical diagnosis of phobias.

It's like, yeah, they could probably make it work with CGI but why not just give that role to an actual dwarf

Because it no longer becomes a high profile movie.

So Scarlet Johansson is the only reason this is a high profile movie? I find that hard to believe

Not wanting to be outwardly supportive and accepting of something like the LGBTQ community, but not wanting to interfere with their goals is being tolerant.

Some individuals get very upset if you voice disapproval of some things, even though you preface it with no desire to interfere with their trajectory, and accuse you of bigotry. I realize this is not a majority of people, but its a significant portion.

Yeah the other dude's being a prick to him but he came up with some seriously misinformed statements earlier in the topic and misdirected anger. And it looks like he's sticking his flag in the one statement he was correct about (breast cancer is not the most lethal, still incorrect about prostate cancer being more lethal as it actually has the best prognosis out of all cancers in males) and he's conveniently failing to acknowledge how misinformed he was.

Lol did you just go back and stealth edit your other post?

The whole point is that there is justification for funneling money into breast cancer research, and money for cancer research is not zero sum. One foundation receiving millions of dollars for research does not mean another foundation was deprived of those funds and it's literally insane to even imply that. And if you were to even be consistent with your hare-brained logic, you should be pining for pancreatic cancer research as it is a fucking atrocious form of cancer with abysmal survival rates.

You're complaining about breast cancer research and attributing its foundation to feminists when epidemiologists, researchers, physicians, and organizations of highly qualified individuals much, much more versed on any of this than either you or your boogeyman feminists are the driving force behind it.

IT LITERALLY DOESN'T AFFECT MORE PEOPLE.

It's anticipated to have SLIGHTLY more NEW CASES than all but two, this year. Significantly more people, right now, at this time, have lung cancer or colon cancer. More people die EVERY year from those two.

But the only cancer that has an "awareness month" is breast cancer. Breast cancer gets significantly more funding than pretty much other cancer research COMBINED.

THAT DISCREPANCY NEEDS TO END.

Breast cancer still has the highest prevalence of any other cancer in the US. Higher than prostate, higher than colon, higher than lung. Breast cancer also has a higher incidence than all other cancers. Thanks to cancer research, the 5 year survival for certain types of breast cancer, most notably estrogen receptor positive cancers and progestin receptor positive cancers, has significantly improved.

https://gis.cdc.gov/Cancer/USCS/DataViz.html

I think you're being dense on purpose, because you're still looking at NEW CASES, and not overall numbers.

Lol do you know the difference between incidence and prevalence?

Lung and colon cancer are more lethal than breast, not more common in terms of new cases or existing cases.

It blows my mind that someone can have so little restraint as to not berate a consumer publicly, and has apologists for it. I mean Christ this employee had the luxury of seeing what she typed before even hitting send; it's not like an "accidental" slip of tongue.

This shouldn't even be about gamergate or whatever attached harrassment campaign. It's a basic exercise in an employer not being able to stand by an representative's actions and having to let that person go as a result.
