I am aware of this and I do apologize for being flagrant in my last post. I just can't understand why people freely decide to live in cities when it's been shown time and time again that there is a sweet spot between population size and available incomes. It also has much to do with career choices as well and what not. As for those that are born into the cities or moved there as children, I do understand and am sympathetic with the overwhelming challenges that poses to them. Specifically, my beef is with the types that claim that they simply MUST live in a city because rural/suburban living is crap, then all they do is get a regular 9-5, order take out all the time, and complain about costs.

There's no value in taking half of a day in remote work. If you want to take half of a day just go MIA around lunch.

If you could take 1-2 hours off, you wouldn't feel as guilty about it, so you'd use up more of your PTO. Because you have to take full days, you feel guilty, so it goes unused and eventually expires, giving the company more labour for their salary dollars.

That's consistent with most scientific thought, although there has been some degree of backsliding on what we thought we knew about the big bang of late. I'm just pointing out that nothing in astronomy/physics is as settled as people like to believe at times.

In physics it's just a theory that - per the math - an infinite number of universes could have been generated during the big bang. As said above, if truly infinite then there should be some (an infinite number, actually) that are exactly like ours but "insert small change here". Actually there should be an infinite number exactly like ours, also. And an infinite number of universes which are only different from ours because I misspelled the word "physics" in my first sentence.

Frankly it's so wide open I don't find it as interesting as many people seem to. Infinite is so infinite that if one universe blew up entirely it would make no difference as there are infinite more (and an infinite number of them are blowing up every second). It's impossible to care about IMO. And they may or may not exist in the first place and we will never know. And if our own universe is infinite (still a possibility) there should be infinite planets exactly like Earth out there anyways.

Really, though, I highly doubt that anything about the universe is mathematically infinite to this silly degree.

I always assume at this point that something in my house is spying on me. I'll be talking about something completely random downstairs, then later I'll go upstairs and like four rooms away to where my laptop is and YouTube will recommend something directly related to what I was talking about.

Like in your example, if I mentioned Scribblenauts in my downstairs conversation, the next time I go on YouTube I'd see at least one Scribblenauts-based video, in spite of never having seen a single Scribblenauts video in my recommendations in the last five years, nor having looked at any videos that would even remotely connect to it.

Can't even blame the ubiquitous smart phone that's probably spying on everyone else, because I don't have one. Or an Alexa, or anything else that you'd usually suspect to be listening. Even my cable box is like 10 years old.

I do have a smart TV, but I've never given it the password to my network and have never set it up to connect to the Internet at all, so in theory it shouldn't be able to talk to anyone either. So I have no idea how the hell YouTube seems to figure out what I've been talking about unless they've planted bugs in my house somehow.
