You can only play it so many times before permanently burning out.
Last time I did a run was in 2016-2017. Somehow got my self locked into the 2nd Seymour fight because I made some bad choices with my ESG. Arguably, I played a similar run 10 years ago. Most Final Fantasy games have the same burn out issue, they're really not meant to be played a dozen times.

Except Final Fantasy V, because it's one of the few games I'd consider "perfect".

But what darkknight109 sounds like they're saying it you call these people sending the email geniuses for somehow doing a bunch of behind the scenes stuff, but they are still somehow dumb enough that a group of random people on the internet somehow figured it all out. If they were smart enough to run the world, they're probably smart enough to outwit a bunch of conspiracy theorist... Especially since they have probably had a lot of practice by now...

You can't stay ahead of a narrative unless you disclose half-truths every once in a while. That story was too big to sweep under the rug. It's damage control at this point, and they're trying to distance themselves from it for the sake of optics, would be my guess.
