This is awesome mate! I speedran Odyssey and Mario 64 and for the former, I would argue I was actually pretty great at it at one point too! If you get to the stage where you just want people to give their general opinions on how the movement itself feels; I'd be happy to give my feedback as I love how platformers can really spice things up with movement. I would argue movement can make almost any level design good in the end.

TTYD is a great game and the complaints are overhyped. You are never guaranteed remakes, so I'm glad that I don't have to wait for the OG to be remade before TTYD can be. Don't get me wrong; the og getting remade would be cool too, but the TTYD is the most inaccessible Paper Mario game at the moment if you don't go the emulation route. OG is 100% available on the Switch as well and knowing N64 kiddos, they'll whine about any change anyway.

I've tried in the past, but I have no intuition for coding. I've only ever made 2 pong games and 1 space shooter-type 2d game in Game Editor.

you can, but you'll ultimately be restricted by the options given to you in whatever make-a-game environment you're using.

coding and scripting either give you more options (but ultimately keep you in that space) or they break it and that's really where things get interesting.

Isn't Unity pretty good with Visual Studio as the script editor for making a wide range of games? I thought even some major games are built on Unity.

I'm in the process of making a game. Right now I'm entirely focusing on the movement aspects of the player character. I will be heavily relying on stealing other people's code, hehe. Let's see how far I get before a major issue with this approach makes my game unplayable.

I finally played Sonic for the first time ever (OG Trilogy on Origins) and I actually had fun. As a Mario enjoyer who has pledged my undisputed devotion to the red plumber for life and swore to keep the 90's console wars going all my life despite being born well after the console wars were over, the fact that I am starting to have warm and fuzzy feelings toward the blue blur is disgusting and must stop. It's time for Sega to get back into the rat ring so I can once again hate on them.

Unfortunately, this is Hollywood, so a character that is famous for being seen in their suit for 99% of the game would only be in their suit for 1% of the movie. Within that 1%, about 90% of it, her helmet will be off so she can show off her face.

Not exactly the same, but didn't Diablo IV pull a similar move with making the fun fluid and not a pain to grind in the beginning to make people think it was a great game, but then they patched in tedium to encourage spending of some kind after reviews were finalized?

I honestly think all of the costumes will be in very limited sections with standard Peach with her ribbon being the core of the game for the most part.

I don't think sales for the PS5 are that bad actually. It appears 3 years in, they are only slightly behind where the Switch was 3 years in, and that's after not having a good first year due to COVID reducing supply capabilities.

People are still buying this console even if the game output has been relatively eh.

I'll have to sit on it, but one thing I noticed is that the section with figure skater, Peach sounded a lot like how she usually does compared to every other trailer where she sounds a little less high-pitched. I hear it's the same VA, so I was thinking they were just giving her a different direction to maybe sound more heroic.

I think one might try, but will find out quickly that people don't care about them nearly as much.

Mahomes has more natural abilities as a QB than Brady, but tbf to Brady, he's never really been that type of QB. There's a reason Brady was a 6th round pick; coaches want a freak of nature they can mold into a QB, but Brady wasn't really the finest clay in that regard.

Brady has high game IQ, though, and he had really good longevity, which people for some reason like to underrate when they compare young people to Brady. Brady's regression was much kinder to the point that he never really was at a point, even at his old age in the mid-40s, where it straight-up looked like it was over. Compare him to Manning, where, despite Manning winning a SB in his final year, looked so far from his prime that his ring that year felt like everyone else won in spite of Manning's poor performances.

Another thing, which comes with age to an extent, is that people wanted to play with Brady. Gronk came out of retirement to play with Brady, so the charisma and the winning attitude made him someone that could keep having elite players in his old age. Won't value that too high as that's pretty subjective, and unfair to compare a young QB to, but it's still something.

Tbh, a part of what I like about the Sims is the separation between it and actual real life. It's goofiness is the best part of it.

People analyzing every play after their team lost to talk about ever penalty that should have been called. People talking about how the NFL is doomed since the other team won. All the account bets that were made with all the welching that follows. People arguing how everyone in the NFL are actually frauds and that basically no player is actually good.

It gives you a good few days worth of entertainment tbh.

No offense, but Taylor is way bigger than Brittney ever was (who was huge, don't get me wrong).

Edit: No other celebrity would be having this much of an impact on the NFL like Taylor. The NFL is already considered the big one in America, and somehow Taylor made it even bigger beyond what it's ever been.

Maybe, but I would expect diminishing returns as it goes on. Plus, if she's not constantly reminding people (which isn't her job tbf), then the 30k might be the biggest wave since people aren't going to be thinking about Taylor saying to register basically a year later if they didn't originally.

I just feel people are putting too much emphasis on Taylor when the solution is to make sure abortion is on the ballots in the swing states, and that will be bigger than all the celebrities in the world endorsing Biden. I mean, it doesn't hurt, of course.

The 30k voter registration is nice, but the location/willingness to vote/etc. are important considerations. Did she get 30k in Wisconsin to register or was it 30k Californians that won't affect the outcome anyways?

It will be big news, but I honestly don't see that being what would make Biden win over Trump. Biden winning over Trump is going to be because Trump's legal issues, people perceiving him as a risky leader, moderates being turned off by Trumpist candidates, and Trump putting his own foot in his mouth. Not to mention, abortion will be a #1 priority, and for every state its on the ballot, that will not be good news for Trump. If any of the swing states have it on the ballot, that could be the real decider between Trump winning that state or not. When you only boil it down to swing states, the last 2 elections have been fairly close, even if Trump lost by millions of votes nationwide. It might suck, but the millions of Californians that vote just don't really matter for the presidential election (still important for them to vote for their state-wide elections of course, don't get me wrong!) It's as close to "stat-padding" as you are going to get in a country that automatically gives every state 2 senators. I think there was a time when Biden was a stronger candidate (i.e., 2016), but at this point, I would argue he's a relatively weak candidate that most 2000 - 2012 Republicans could beat. He's just not facing the Romneys of the world anymore, so it makes him stronger than the insane Trumpists.

Sims 2 was basically all I played (or more accurately, watched others play) when I was a kid. Sims 3 I played only a little bit, but found the complete package that I mysteriously found through secretive means to be pretty fun.

Would not be surprised since it is Free 2 Play. Probably will give you a limit on how many items you can have in vanilla and charge you to have items beyond that limit.

It's probably not a good sign that one of the positions EA is looking to hire is titled "Head of monetization and marketplace." I mean, it's not a good sign that modern EA is behind the game in general, but that is definitely not a good sign, haha! I think it could be a very fun game hidden by the annoyances of microtransactions unfortunately.

I can't even tell. It looks like they don't sell a "complete edition" and I can't tell if expansions are different than bundles/kits/etc. Even today, it looks like a good few hundreds of dollars are needed, so the Sims definitely knows how to nickel and dime you. Sims 5 will probably end up being very similar with a pretty bare-bones vanilla package with the real meat hidden in these $40 expansions.

I've been looking up potential Sims 5 rumors for years now as I want to play a Sims game. 4 is too restrictive, but 3 is kinda old, so I was hoping for basically a more advanced 3.

They announced a Sims 5 back in December with the idea it would be ready for the public in 2026. Only thing is, I have no idea if it will be more like 4 or 3. I don't even care if it has less features than 4, as long as the a.i. is built upon and has an even more open environment like 3, I'd be so down. I remember playing the composite Sims 3 back in 2018 and becoming obsessed in the worst and most depressing way possible and am looking to rekindle this magic.

It's F2P which is a bad sign as all free games require terrible monetization to support the cost of making them, but Sims has always been pretty egregious with DLC, so I'm hoping it's more like that. If it ends up being like Sims 4 where it's very segregated, and it's not one big map depending on the location, then I'd be pretty disappointed and all my hopes for the game will be dashed.

Honestly, I'm kinda for United States of Earth. Can we get this amendment back in the running please? It will open the door for us to finally annex the UK as our 51st state :)

Give Him a break. We are just Sims to him. He tries to play the correct way, but sometimes you just get bored and need to put the humans in the pool and remove the ladder.

I don't really care; this was the most fun I have had watching the Superbowl in a very long time. Ever since the Rams left, I have had no love for the NFL, so it was nice to have something rekindle it, even if it was for a dumb reason.

Threw a party with the Fam, made some homemade pizzas and just enjoyed a competitive and big-feeling game!
