Mario Kart 8 alone is going to outgross what Avengers Endgame ended up making at the box office by the time everything is said and done, so gaming is still the more lucrative business. The hope is that these movies are going to keep these games in the consumer market's mind, as well as helping Nintendo with their push into the amusement park sector. Jeff Keighley has his Summer Games Fest then, too.That hasn't been the case for Nintendo in a few years now. They don't feel obligated to do so since there isn't an actual event nowadays. I know the movie made a lot of money but I don't think a Mario game would be very successful, the age of movie tie ins is over and gamers wouldn't respond well to the childish aesthetic of the filmI can confirm that this is not going to be a movie tie-in. Nintendo is not interested in this movie tie-ins at this time. My personal opinion, though, I think Nintendo should take the look of the Mushroom Kingdom, at least Toad Town and Peach's castle, in the direction of the Mario movie. The environment in the movie looked a lot more like I imagine people would have thought based on SMB1-World, than what 64 decided to settle with (probably hardware limitations). I'd be happy with the SMO idea they had, though, where Bowser would use his own version of "Cappy" (don't know if it would have been Tiara or some other character) to capture Peach, which creates a fusion of Bowser and Peach, as presumably, the final boss. I'm also glad people are realizing that Bowsette should be a Peach clone. Better Call Saul had characters that believed that people can't change. Jimmy wasn't ever going to throw Kim under the bus, he was just trying to bait her into coming. Him throwing out the reduced sentence was his ultimate victory. He finally proved to good ol' Chuck that people can change. Jimmy getting a reduced sentence, with the knowledge he would still be slippin' Jimmy would not align with that. He both honored and disproved Chuck at that moment. And you guys keep presenting the trial of Jimmy being over Howard, but that's not what this trial was about at all. It was Jimmy, finally holding himself accountable for Howard, sure, but also Chuck, and most of all, the entire Breaking Bad universe. The meth empire he helped Walter build hurt many people, thousands of people. Ever since Covid, Nintendo doesn't really feel obligated to do a direct during that time period anymore, unless they feel it would be good timing. This direct is more so to give Zelda one last major event to put it in the news before it releases. It should be noted, nothing will be mentioned for any sort of Switch Pro/the more anticipated Switch successor. | PiOverlord 04/24/23 5:40:23 PM #1 | This direct is mainly going to be focusing on Tears of the Kingdom, but it's going to also highlight the great results of the Mario movie by thanking the audience for going out to see it, with a promise that more adaptations of classic Nintendo franchises will be coming in the future. There's going to be a short reminder of some recent games that have come out recently such as Advance Wars, as well. A new Yoshi game is set to be announced, along with a short Metroid Prime 4 teaser. Various smaller games are also going to be featured during the presentation. TotK will close out the presentation, but the biggest takeaway is going to be the short clip of the newest Super Mario video-game. While the clip itself will be short (similar to Odyssey's debut clip during the Switch announcement in 2016), more information will be promised later on in the year, as well as an expected 2024 release date. People will look at the original flop, but guess what, Mario has only gotten bigger since then, and this time, he's done by Illumination. Illumination, even if you hate the movies, knows how to market them and get people to go to the theaters. Minions 2 soundly disproved the claim that Disney fans were thinking that people just didn't want to see animated films in the theaters because of Covid. Now, I want to think this will do big in Japan considering its Mario, but Japan might not go all-in since it is a western adaptation of their media, and not actually their adaptation. The only thing that I would love to walk around myself as Mario in would be Toad Town and the beautiful Mushroom Kingdom that I always wished Peach's castle would actually be in, and not the "yawn, zzz, my dad just cut the yard, look at the flat lawn" that Super Mario 64 has established for the games now. They have a 3D Mario game in the shop, it could be basically done, and they are purposely sitting on it for all we know. Teen Titans, on the other hand, I have rewatched at various times, and it definitely hasn't aged as well to me. It is in that weird early 2000's era of cartoons where some cartoons wanted to take themselves more seriously, and have something more than an episodic-story, but probably wasn't allowed to. As a kid, I really enjoyed the Raven storylines the most, and thought she was cool, so her parts were probably the peak of TT for me. Edit: It's also why season 4 was superior as a series finale point to me. They are in a spot where their main fanbase clashes with the need for the long-term. Bud is your "dad's beer", or heck, maybe even your grandpa's. It's not cool. Bud really wants to reinvent itself for the younger audience, but there is such a clash of ideals between the general youth it's are targeting and the current audience that makes up its fanbase. You can't go all-in either because you still need to do well in the short-term, or else heads will roll, and the company might not be able to recover as other beer companies will be vultures and strike while the iron is hot. Some would call New Coke the worst marketing disaster of all time, but at least, by offering a new product to replace the old, it reminded the everyday American why they loved Coke, and launched Coke right back past Pepsi by just introducing the classic version a few months after removing it. Bud didn't replace its beer, and the fact is, bud is a bad drink anyways. Some of the symptoms are there, she has wet the bed twice in about a month, when that has never really been an issue for her before. She does look pretty scrawny, now that I'm really looking, but she's a little girl, some of them girls literally do look like sticks. Still, sometimes it seems she's hungry when she shouldn't be. Supposedly, at the doctors, the blood sample they took indicated nothing being wrong, but the urine sample said the opposite. The doctor is having my parents take her to the ER to get more testing done now. I can't imagine how scary that must be for a little kid her age. I feel scared myself. I know there's ways to live a manageable lifestyle with that condition, but it's such a huge lifestyle change, and there's going to be constant worries about what she's intaking and such. Plus, there's the insulin shots, that I know no little kid wants to deal with. Hope she's okay. Early on in her life, I was watching her every day as I graduated from High School a semester early. She was only 1 and a half at the time, and all those moments together really created this strong bond I have with her.
