Even though Avatar was technically a 2009 movie, I'd argue it deserves to be brought up in this conversation, especially from a worldwide perspective.

Get Out is probably #2 for me, when considering the US alone, though it's an incredibly distant second.

I would call The Hunger Games an easy second (from an American viewpoint) if the YA craze had petered out just a few years later. As is, it might still be up there.

Bloody Mary, real name Mary Holden, is a 19-year old American woman, adept in technological dark arts that combines magical theatrics with twisted variations of biotic and caduceus technology stolen from Mercy's research. She keeps her tech in a leather-bound spellbook, giving the illusion of real black magic as she summons creatures around her and drains health from enemies. When she was young, Mary had a huge passion for horror movies and would watch Junkenstein's Revenge on repeat around Halloween time. The portrayal of the Witch in particular inspired her pursuit of the dark arts. However, she also has a split-personality and was a troubled teen, often hurting her classmates in an escalating manner, until she eventually stabbed both a rival classmate and boy who Mary had a crush on but resented for not going out with her. Mary's parents tried institutionalizing her, but she stabbed her parents too and fled. Tired, conflicted, hungry, and desperate, Mary had a chance encounter with the infamous thief Sombra. Mary told Sombra about her past, and in exchange for helping Mary get the tools needed to become the dark sorcerer she dreamed of, Mary became a proxy agent for Sombra and used her threatening split-personality and new tech to become a forced to be reckoned with. Despite this, there's still a part of Mary that resents what's she's become, as she struggles between the sweet and sour sides of her personality.

Mother Brain: Fodder Line - You might be surprised to realize just how little people actually care about Ridley (hint: there's a reason why Smash did nothing for his strength), and he's still a clear Low Midcarder. Mother Brain will of course be a step down, but the Metroid series counts for a lot around here.

Also, Mother Brain was probably already High Fodder back in Villains, especially if Sephiroth SFF'd Liquid, so why wouldn't she be stronger now.

Not too long after, Artemis met up with Patch, a rat who had also escaped the lab but had returned to Artemis to tell them where Isis and Nina were located. While Artemis did indeed have human friends, there was no way that any of those relationships would be as strong as the ones with his animal friends.

Artemis began to quickly realize that while he could be friendly with humans, his trust in them was ever fleeting. There is something in his mind that will not allow him to trust them completely. Artemis doesn't understand that he has a pretty serious case of PTSD due to most of his life being confined in a cage and tortured by humans.

While out and about, Artemis will often put on a facade to appear always happy and helpful. He doesn't want to risk upsetting his human friends for fear that they will abandon him or worse. He will try and avoid human conflict and drama at all costs because of this.

"Hello hello! That's me! Artemis! I might seem like an adorable little pup, but I've got this really cool power that lets me grow huge and crush all of the bad guys that get in my way! Right now, my friends and I are trying to bring Gotham back together after it has turned into a pretty big mess. Along with being able to grow big, I've also got the ability to speak so that's probably why this uh... little message thing I'm making for you all isn't just in barks, haha. Luckily, I'm still able to communicate with my animal friends. Patch and Isis are my closest friends and I would do anything to protect them. When I'm not running around Gotham with my friends and trying to put it back together, some of the things I enjoy are dancing and performing! I would really love one day to own a little theater where I can perform for people and make them applaud for me. If you bring me eggs to eat, I will love you forever.

Please bring me eggie bois, okay?"

The Basics
- Artemis is a one and a half year old Pomeranian Mix
- His normal size is about a foot and a half tall, roughly weighing about 15-20 pounds
- Due to his powers, he can grow up to 10 feet tall currently but one of his most common forms while walking around is his wolf sized form which is about 3 and a half feet tall, roughly 150 pounds.

Some backstory:

Artemis as a young pup was taken away to a laboratory owned by Kirk Langstrom, better known as Man-Bat. There he was tortured and tested on day after day, along with many other animals and creatures. Unlike many of the others that had been brought in, Artemis managed to survive these tests and eventually found that he had these new powers. One of being able to grow to a much bigger size, and the other, to be able to communicate using the English language. He eventually was able to escape Kirk's grasp but had to abandon the friends and family he had made while he was confined there. He made new friends after becoming part of a group that would one day set out to bring Gotham together... but they were mostly all humans... something he probably won't ever be able to be entirely comfortable with.

Later on, as Artemis and his friends start to piece Gotham back together, they were able to locate some of Artemis's closest friends in another laboratory. While both Isis and Nina were alive to be rescued, many of the others that he had known and grown up with had perished.

Apparently I was uncertain enough here that I both prefaced and ended my ranking with practically the same sentiment, so I figured I'd say a bit more about it.

In terms of the sheer, selfish "announcement that would make me personally go wild" perspective, Mae as a playable character is the only one. However, I would want every step of the process, from the initial decision to the specific implementation, approved by Scott and Bethany. Even then, I worry about things like the use of NITW music, due to the whole Alec situation, and generally the impact that would result from the vast increase in awareness.

My personal reaction to a Smash Run announcement would be much more muted, but I really did enjoy the mode in Smash 3DS, and I would certainly be interested in playing more of it. It's also leaps and bounds ahead of Mae in Smash in terms of probability, which likely factored into my rankings.

Also, I'm very satisfied with what Smash Ultimate already has, and my realistic most wanted DLC (a Dragon Quest character) is already in, with a simultaneously fun and faithful implementation.

This totally isn't a bump in disguise, why would you think that?

Zant: Mid Fodder - Midna has a persistent fanbase, yet she's barely at the Fodder Line. I doubt most people care about Zelda villains in general, and Zant in particular, so I see him being rather weaker than Midna.

Saruman: Mid Fodder

Mace Windu: High Fodder - I have a hard time believing he's stronger than the more prominent and meme-supported Palpatine, not to mention reasonably popular OT characters like Lando and Boba Fett.
