This is very similar to my position. My reasoning is that the fetus has had no chance to experience life and therefore has nothing to lose, and they do not feel pain until at least the second trimester, iirc (may be wrong, feel free to correct me). Before that point, it's basically just slightly later contraception to me, as the fetus cannot suffer. After that, it's a bit less clear. I think that picking when life starts would be arbitrary in the first place, but as I'm personally not religious I don't see a basis for suggesting that life is inherently sacred or special.

I think it would have done a lot better if it actually had a finished story.

At least I hope that a dislike of how it's not a finished story is why it only got sixth.

Hopefully it gets a season two in a couple years. Not sure if there's going to be enough chapters (since it's on 40 now and probably close to finished, right?) or it's popular enough, but it really deserves one.

I agree on Madoka being better (although I rate Bloom into You pretty high too), but it's definitely not Yuri. Same with Hibike which was also there but a bit lower. Hibike is actually a bit of a fuck you to the whole yuri genre considering it basically just has a shitton of Yuri bait and then gives the main girls romantic subplots with guys which are some of the weaker parts of the series.

Penguindrum complete. First half was really good, and basically everything with Ringo from episodes 2-8 was the highlight. I would watch 100 episodes of yandere Ringo being Ringo, no problem. I'd watch another series with an actual villain version of Ringo. She's absolutely nuts and everything to come out of her mouth or her head is great in more ways than one. Her backstory is also imo the best of the bunch. All this makes it a bit disappointing when she becomes more reasonable and normal. However, the second half just wasn't as enjoyable, at least to me. For starters, there was less humour/character/mystery focus, and more 'dramatic' twists, reveals, and conflict. Unfortunately, I feel like once it got grittier and more dramatic, it just didn't have the character and lacked something that was there before. I didn't really get many "holy shit" moments either, cause many reveals were handled clumsily or dumped in quick succession. Child abuse was the generic background story for everyone (guess there's only so many options for tragic backstories when your characters are mostly children). I get that there's themes running through which make that fit, but it's predictable and has always irritated me a little when overused. The foreshadowing ranges from excellent to nonexistent (at least to me, although I've only just finished and so may not have had time to think of particular moments). Oh, and there's a lot of romantic subplots or subtext going on there particularly in the second half. Most of it's forced, underdeveloped, incestuous, kinda but not really incestuous, or several of the above. Thanks, Japan.

I feel kinda bad for focusing more on the negative here cause I did have a lot of fun overall. The art and OST/OPs/EDs were great. I think it's creative as hell, and the story is excellent in concept even if the execution was lacking at points. Worth my time, although it probably isn't enjoyable for everyone. Don't remember who recommended it, but thanks for the suggestion.

That's my current plan with Mob, too. I'm waiting on reading a few things in anticipation of future seasons, like Mob and Promised Neverland. Currently on volume 5 of the Oregairu LNs and I'm not sure whether I should read past where season 2 ended, with season 3 coming up.

I'm on episode 13 of Penguindrum right now. Still enjoying it, although the last couple of episodes haven't been consistently engaging me quite so much. Honestly, I just want more Ringo. She absolutely stole the show for a good 6-7 episodes and every scene with her is that much better for it, plus I just like her backstory way more than the others. Himari is alright as well though, so far. It's just Shouma and Kan that are letting the character side down, even though they definitely aren't bad. I'm just not as invested in them I think it's cause just about everything surrounding Kan is still vague, and cause Shouma is a little bit bland at times.

Penguindrum episode 5

Apple-chan is definitely my favourite character so far. Feels like she's the protagonist and I'm rooting for her even though she's batshit crazy. Is Kan basically becoming a hired criminal? Or at least exchanging favours for the penguin thingy for money? There's been hints that he's probably up to some criminal stuff on the side such as the fact he's okay with a helluva lot of morally dubious things, stalking, breaking into people's houses (with the ability to lockpick) and stealing stuff, without much consideration or guilt. Also a bit of a playboy (but probably with a deeper reason behind it) and I feel like that's properly going to bite him on the arse sooner or later. Pretty obvious tried to injure/kill that girl on the escalator? That's the only reason I can think he'd be getting paid (and he obviously needs the money for the house and to stay with his sister). I guess pushing the woman was part of the penguin thingy's plan? There's a big theme of fate in this show so I'm guessing the penguin people are agents of fate who got something from the aquarium and now want the penguindrum? And they all have artefacts like the fate diary or the little penguins or the weird laser gun with penguin balls? This is all just random assumptions so I don't think it's likely to all be right but just my theories so far.

Anyways very enjoyable so far 9/10 would recommend

I liked the first few Shield Hero episodes but it's all been downhill from there, despite the good initial concept. My biggest problem is he's always in the right or what he does works out, (and if he's wrong very quickly corrects it with no actual consequences) and everyone else outside of the party is cartoonishly incompetent/idiotic/wrong/evil. Oh, and he has a harem of literal children one of which now looks like an adult to make it more okay for her to have genuine romantic interest in him.

That may be slightly exaggerated but I think it outlines my biggest problems.

Penguindrum ep 2 was fun. Looks like apple girl is probably a yandere type and the main antagonist for a bit aside from the penguin thingy? Really liked the atmosphere of this episode, the spying was well set out and made you think while releasing information in a slow but steady drip and giving you all the necessary hints to work it out yourself. That's the sorta mystery stuff I like. Still no closer to knowing anything about the Penguindrum, though. I assume the diary was from the aquarium too, since it had what looked to be fish on it? Probably something fishy about that aquarium. Something like whatever you buy from there grants you one wish in exchange for finding the Penguindrum for it. Apple girl is definitely aware of it, to some extent. She has penguin drawings, keychains, etc everywhere.

First quarter or so of this week's Hitoribocchi was probably the best it's been so far. Enjoying the show but it starts to grate a bit when the jokes which weren't originally funny get bashed in your face.
