I think I may have given too many 1s overall, but I have tried to save them for those I find outright offensive, and 10s are saved for those which are definitely personal favourites.

What a dreadful day. Jesus Christ. I have never looked at the design of Meltan before and I hate it more than Vaporeon, somehow. It would have a 0 if it were possible. It's hideous. Meanwhile, Beartic and Lopunny have crotch and boob hair respectively. Thanks, Game Freak.

I was wondering why my gen 1 ratings were so low! Turns out most of the ones I really like were left for today! Couple stinkers in there though, Seel and Dewgong would be easy 1s if they didn't have nice designs, and there's a few examples of how uncreative Gen 1 was. Once again, a few which are literally just animals with a very tiny thing changed (slapping a horn on, different colour palette, or extra tails), along with the Gen 1 classic "it should evolve? Slap another head on it, problem solved!" Unfortunately I actually kinda don't mind some of those because nostalgia despite how much I want to dislike them, so they still get okay ratings. Also, Parasect. It's a zombified crab thingy controlled by parasitic mushrooms. Third best Pokemon and nothing you say will change my mind.

Poor Liz... Then again, I am a massive KyoAni fanboy and I basically just watched it for the beautiful art, direction and sound design. I do agree it has a pretty paper-thin plot, bland characters and should have been shorter. That sounds like a lot of complaints, but I think also knew what to expect going in because I was really looking forward to it, heard what it was like from other fans, and therefore wasn't too concerned.

I actually forgot what Bayleef looks like for about a minute and almost had to look it up (I've not had to do that for anything else before gen 6 before I give my initial rating) despite having played a ton of gen 2 (and the remakes) and using it multiple times. I gave it a 3, but docked it by one on principle. Meganium is a decent design, though. On another side of things, Corsola is really cute and colourful and I would use it everywhere if it was, y'know, useable.

Not a big water fan, once again. Sobble is the worst starter line, imo. Lumineon and Finneon would be near the top of my overall rankings, if they were actually useful for anything, ever. Generic water pokes make me sad and I always feel like they could have done more with them both in-game and in their designs, although Finneon/Lumineon are very pretty designs, if plain. Gamefreak have gotten a lot better at avoiding this since the accident that was Basculin's existence, so credit where credit is due.

Barboach might have the least personality of every single Pokemon. It's really damn boring and I think it might be my very least favourite if I put aside my irrational Vaporeon hatred. Also, the Klink line. I actually don't mind the idea, but did they realllllly need to give it three stages? On the other hand, Elekid is pretty much the only baby Pokemon I will ever be able to stand and it has a really satisfying design, I have a soft spot for Tangela, the Turtwig line is the weakest of the Sinnoh starters but still pretty good, and Numel is comfortably in my overall top 10.
