A second case of norovirus has been connected to a Chipotle restaurant in Virginia that temporarily closed following reports of sick customers.

The Loudoun County Health Department has identified more than 135 people who reported becoming ill after eating at the Sterling Chipotle between July 13 and 16, according to a statement from the agency.

...

Additionally, the Chipotle stock lost nearly 13 percent of its value last week.

That is not reality. You might have a career you tolerate, a mediocre wife and two brats, and live in a city with constantly bad weather and never be able to afford vacation.

This is not a special life experience. This is the average of most people.

This sounds a lot like giving up on trying and settling to me.

You either uproot yourself and move to a different place, or you accept your current place. You won't find success in trying to change the entire world. Better to change your own point of view.

I find that most of life's conflicts come from people being overly ambitious or having their expectations about life too high.

Sure, everyone wants to have a career they love, a loving family, and live in a nice city with good weather and go on fun vacations.

Got a blood test for finding things affecting my depression. Nothing showed up. Eh.... My problems can't be solved by just meds, either. None have worked for me. No money for therapy, either.

I mean, it's definitely possible for people to think themselves sick. If it's not physical, then the other way out is that with time, eventually you get tired of being tired.

TopicNew study projects drop in Millenial voter turnout in 2018

http://data.voterparticipation.org/report/comparing-voting-electorate-2012-2016-predicting-2018-drop-off/

The researchers said there are an array of reasons why members of the RAE don’t vote at the same rates as their older, white or married counterparts.

Among them: RAE voters may have less information about the candidates or the voting process itself. They may feel less engaged in state or local elections than national ones. Particularly in the case of millennials, they tend to move more often, requiring them to re-register to vote each time they do.

Finally, the study’s creators said, campaign-season messaging may not be targeted at the concerns of RAE voters because of their age or family status.

All this can contribute to a sense of discouragement about traditional civic engagement, and members of the RAE cohort may opt for alternatives, such as volunteerism or expressing their views via social media.

Within the RAE, “Drop-off among millennials is predicted to be 54.1%, or 17.2 million voters, and 33.4% among unmarried women, or 11.1 million voters,” the study projected.

The highest drop-off region for these voters is predicted to be the Mid-Atlantic, which includes New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

As to other high states, Virginia and North Carolina are expected to see high drop-off numbers of more than 1 million voters apiece.

I think so.

Cause and effect. Action and reaction. A boulder rolls down a hill and crushes against a wall. As soon as the boulder started to roll, it was destined to crash against that wall (barring outside interference). But as a universe, there is no outside interference, just trillion of trillions of atoms bouncing off of each other in complex ways.

I don't see how the human mind is any different. We receive input and generate output. It's complex sure, but it's measured and based on real factors. There's no true randomness in nature. Everything that happened happened due to the events that led up to that moment.

And so, just like a fire burning, is the human mind a complex chemical reaction. Maybe our entire lives are predetermined. If there are alternate universes, there's a very good chance that given the same starting point, every single event in the universe would happen exactly identically, because every single atom and sub-atomic particle in it would have interacted in exactly the same way.

But maybe I'm just rambling now.
