I don't mean someone going in and disabling it from the outside, I'm talking about connecting to a personal VPN or the like and then just tunneling to the content you want that isn't available on the "naked" network. At that point it shouldn't really be the network's problem, no? Aside from possibly doing something like Torrenting that kills the network's bandwidth if you're going to route all your traffic through a different point outside the existing network then the stuff you're doing shouldn't be the concern of the host providing the network. That's kind of the point of P2P tunneling. Yet I've been places where my attempt to use my personal OpenVPN server is blocked.
