I'm really down on Snake this year. I love the guy, but his entire series has looked horrible. Ocelot and Big Boss were some of the biggest turds of the contest to me. Liquid wasn't even in the contest.

I also feel that, with so many characters being in Smash these days, the Smash boost will not be worth as much as it once was. I think Snake has fallen to the lower half of the NN, and Zelda, who has blown me away in every single match she's had, can take advantage of that.

I finally got my first Quetz kill. That was much harder than it had any right to be.

No earth chain or AOSB, but my physical earth is strong: Tifa USB2, Cinque USB, and a pretty stacked Bartz. But it was still hell.

I got a mythril on the item draw. At least the Black Friday campaign wasn't a total waste, because the banner is the biggest trap since the Newcomer banners disappeared.

I'll wait 3 weeks for RoP, when 50 mythril gets me 10 guaranteed BSB+ relics, instead of 3.

Goddamn, Incubus Tank Purge is a bitch. That shit hit for 6000 AOE back to back on the D280. I managed to get through by casting Yshtola BSB between them, but the timing is extremely strict.

I was a second or two over 30 seconds on my first successful attempt, but I'm sure I can do D280 sub 30.

D??? is another matter, obviously.

Because 50 mythril for 3 BSB+ relics does not sound like a good deal at all at this point in the game.

2/11 Aerith LMR and Ovelia LMR.

Doublecast LMRs are never bad, but I really wanted those USBs, especially Aerith's.

I'd almost be tempted to go for a full price draw on this banner. Probably not, since I'm now up to 6 dupes, but healer USBs are so important for torment, and I have a whooping 2 of them (Yuna, which isn't instant, and Aphmau, which is great for party IC, but lacks survivability with its weaker heal and an often wasted Hastega)

Definitely considering Aerith USB over Elarra USB on the select, after this one. Aerith USB+LMR+LM2 sounds amazing, and I absolutely prefer Aerith as a character over Elarra.

I already have the other 6*s.

The Glints are lame, and my experience with Maria's LMR shows that start with en-element LMRs are pretty disappointing if your USB has en-element anyway.

I also got a Disco today.

Unfortunately it was a dupe Gilgamesh OSB. That shit wasn't even worth a damn the first time I got it. A non-elemtal OSB, on a statstick without an element+.

I think I'd have preferred a 3*, at least those don't get me excited for 5 seconds before showing how worthless they are.

Yes, I know any 6* is good legendary weapon fodder, but still...

I know that's what the topic on the FFRK board says, but I'm pretty sure that's a mistake. I believe Phoenix deals 20% less damage, instead of taking 20% less damage.

You'll notice his first Meteor deals less than 50% HP to your characters, instead of the 60% it would normally do (he enters Savage Mode on turn 2). I suppose it could be magicite passives, but I was under the impression that % attacks wouldn't be affected by Spell/Blade Ward.

Regardless, with his ridiculous speed increase, you absolutely want to break Savage Mode against Phoenix.

Edit: In the JP topic, Solitaire actually has it as Phoenix dealing 20% less damage.

Here's the math on elemental buffing.
First, what you need to know, is that bonus damage from weapons (+20%), armors (+20%), en-element (+50% - +120%), and chain field effect (+20%/+50%) all stack together additively.

The Glint allows en-element stacking of up to 3 levels. This effect needs to be refreshed every 25 seconds, but you can use other sources of en-element to rise the en-element level. So Glint->USB->USB gets you to level 3. If you don't use the Glint again within 25 seconds, you drop to level 1, otherwise you can stay at level 3.

En-element level 1 gives +50% to abilities and +80% to soulbreaks.
Level 2 gives +80% to abilities and +100% to soulbreaks
Level 3 gives +120% to both abilities and soulbreaks.

So if you have a weapon, an armor and level 1 en-element, you get +20%+20%+50% = +90% (1.9)
If you have a weapon, an armor and a level 3 en-element, you get +20%+20%+120% = +160% (2.6)

I hope that didn't give you too much of a headache.

Assuming you have Lightning+ weapon and armor, the elemental multiplier goes from 1.9 without Glint to 2.6 with Glint. That's around 40% more ability damage. Might be overkill, but I think that's worth 1 bar every 25 seconds.
