I'm not buying this because it's clearly a downgrade from UMvC3. The lack of X-Men is definitely a blow for that, though, because I loved the shit out of the first two movies in particular, especially X2. So no, none of this was "sudden", this is Capcom being shitty and getting staged up by ArcSys with Dragon Ball. But this is a shitty excuse.
