Sequence breaking in SM is highly overrated. Yes, it's there and yes it provides replayability but people act like it was a genius thing that was way ahead of its time. I'm pretty sure the devs wasn't tryna make it possible for you to beat the game backwards when giving you sequence breaks in SM.

Fusion focused a lot more on the element of horror and also creating some lore for Samus and the Metroid universe which I thought was great and refreshing.

People did not like that there was a lot of hand holding, that there was too much dialogue which apparently destroyed the pacing of the game, that it was too linear and basically it was too different from Super Metroid.

My big issue with SoE is its length, it's a fairly short RPG. For that reason it's always hard for me to rank it above SoM.

I love grinding the weapons and magic in SoE. My bone weapon is maxed out before I fight that giant red insect boss LMAO.

he knows they are all about to get fired, so he tries to make it fun.

I've never heard of that theory before. Michael has little to no self-awareness about how cringe and how awful he can be as a human being while also wanting thinking his employees are his friends and wants them to think he's cool.
