No. It would have actually been easier to hurt them then to avoid hurting them. The fact that no one got hurt is proof positive that he was not acting with the intent to hurt anybody.

He was in a situation where his body was in danger and theirs were not. When they started hitting his car, it ceased to be ethically necessary to avoid harming them in about effort to avoid harm to his own body. This is called "self-defense"

I'm thinking about it and it's not all that surprising. Gamepad support is typically pretty controller-agnostic from a programming perspective, since there's a standard controller layout. 2 control sticks with buttons, 2 pairs of shoulder buttons, d-pad, "start," "select," 4 face buttons, and home. That's even how the Switch's layout works. If the Gamecube adapter works by transforming the Gamecube controller into the standard gamepad layout then it wouldn't be surprising that the system would be able to treat like any other gamepad.

I'd probably be afraid for my safety if I had a crowd of people attacking my car. What are they going to do to me if one of them breaks a window? They're a lot more likely to injure the driver than the other way around.

To be perfectly fair, bumping people with a car is never "careful." Even going that slow, if somebody fell in front of the car, he's not gonna be able to stop before going over them atleast partially.

but I hate when protestors block traffic on a major roadway. We had a bunch of protestors walk onto the Dan Ryan Expressway here in Chicago like a year or two ago which I believe is the busiest expressway in the US. It sucks. It ruins everyone's commute, people who are now late for their jobs/responsibilities/interviews/flights/etc, totally messes with first responders and emergency services abilities to perform their jobs, etc. I get why protestors would want to do so, but there are so, so, so many downsides it blows my mind.

If they held the same signs and did the same things and stayed on the sidewalk or in public parks or something there would be no problem.

Yeah one of the alt-right guys asked me if I was gay. He said he didn't have a problem with gay people but thought they didn't really need to broadcast it. That's the closest thing to homophobia I've experienced in, like, 8 years? And if anyone is gonna attack me unprovoked it's almost certainly gonna be Antifa.

Yeah I'm here, couldn't get into the thing because they only gave tickets to a couple people. Got interviewed like 5 times lol. No one was fighting and I had lovely conversations with alt-righters and protesters. People meet your energy in kind. It's really easy to avoid violence.

There was a really clever protest where if you got a ticket and took it to a bar instead of watching the speech, they would give you a free beer.

Basically nothing violent happened. One guy in a swastika shirt got punched and spit on. One white nationalist rolled down a window, fired a gunshot that hit nobody, and drove off. And that's it.

Andrew Anglin said that the alt-righters should show up around black and Jewish sites on campus and be spooky for a couple minutes, calling them "flash demos" The goal was to make campus feel like there are Nazis everywhere. I couldn't find any and I don't think there was much of anything going on after the speech. I think it's supposed to cover for the fact that like 20 supporters showed up.

It looks like this event was a huge embarrassing failure for the alt-right. Bashing the people in the alt-right gives the alt-right movement its power, as Eli Mosley said. I think their numbers are declining because they're getting bored at polite nonviolent protests.
