He's not wrong that the likelihood of any given child being shot isn't overly high in an absolute sense, which means that worrying about it on an individual level isn't altogether necessary, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a problem or that the situation can't/shouldn't be improved. What a brain dead take. Maybe if we all worried about this as individuals instead of handwaving it with usual "Oh, itllnever happen near me" attitudes jerks like you have then many, MAYBE, fewer children would die.
