I know they eat it there and in Spain. Never saw horse on a menu in Italy, but I saw it in a market in Spain. The story I hear is that if your horse died in Medieval times, you're not going to waste the meat.

At the time, a guy who was totally unserious, ran a gag campaign. IF EATING HORSE FLESH IS OUTLAWED, ONLY OUTLAWS WILL EAT HORSE FLESH. With a picture of infamous outlaws - riding a horse.

IIRC that proposition was fueled by people who saw Horse Whisperer and became upset that some people -indigenous to CA- were eating horse meat.

Yeah, it's IMO too easy get something on the ballot here. 40 million. I have received ballots with propositions regarding eating of horse flesh and mandatory use of condoms in porn.

Sometimes the proposition page is 2X bigger than the candidates running for office.

BTW for those not in the know, Phil Hendrie had a radio show and he would play various characters saying stupid, silly and outrageous things. The things the characters would say were indefensible. People I can only describe as idiots would call in to complain.

Well maybe they were sincere and just didn't know they were being clowned.

Either way, Hendrie would clown callers for 2 or 3 hours every night. And did it for years.

Another time - and I remember this one vividly - he did a skit as a woman who ran a boxing gym to help other women to "punch like a champ and knock their man out" He reeled in every fish on the line. The premise was "couples therapy".

I LMAO of over what he did, many times!

He did a stunt about something - typically, something outrageous but I can't remember what it was- claiming to be at a sawmill. He did his usual rant for 20 minutes or so. As usual, some rube called in to complain. Everytime she tried to speak, this HUGE buzzsaw sound played, completely drowning her out. It went on for 10 minutes before she hung up. I have been laughing over 20 years about this.

Phil in his prime broke talk radio.

LOVED Phil Hendrie. We've discussed this before, but I'm a big radio guy too.

I have heard that he's something of a jerk though - interpersonally. He's involved with great charities however.

90% of what I listen to is sports radio. The discussions can get "intellectual", but at the end of the day, it's just sports.

I enjoy the diversion.

Bartow Middle School teacher Liquindella Clark was taken into custody on Friday night after she confronted a student involved in an altercation with her child at a Bartow High School basketball game.

According to WFLA, the group of students went to a nearby McDonald's after the game.

While at the McDonald's, one of the students was aggressively approached by Clark for arguing with her child, according to police.

Clark is accused of threatening the girl before being removed from the restaurant.

She is then said to have waited in the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant until the teens exited the building.
Authorities said that's when Clark punched one teen girl in the face and removed her wig. She then allegedly hit another student in the head.
Clark was arrested at the scene and taken to Polk County Jail. She was released Sunday and is now facing child abuse charges.
She is a sixth grade math teacher for Polk County Schools, who began her career with the district in 2008, according to The Ledger.
