Outrage? Or just some people with nothing better to do complaining on Twitter?

The original full video is still up in the opening post for your interpretation should you choose to watch it.

https://automaton-media.com/en/news/japanese-band-behind-one-piece-red-song-rolls-back-racist-music-video-depicting-columbus-and-apes/

Anyway the band's management had taken the video down from it's official YT channel, admitted about their ignorance on historical and cultural context and apologised for it

Did they not think this thru before making it?

They were likely thinking from the angle of Columbus being a great explorer.
And the song was about how far human civilisation had progressed.

Song is titled "Columbus" and they are not really subtle about it.

More noteworthy is how the pushbacks are from the Japanese themselves.

GoT is fantasy. The only historical basis for it was Martin was inspired by the War of the Roses in England. The whole setting is based on his DnD campaign.

He was referring to Ghost Of Tsushima.

It was never "historically" accruate and never claimed to be. It just referenced a ton of real people and real events in an entertaining way. As I said earlier they acklowedged their own innacuracies in the game's lore.

There was a time when Ubi dare to boasts that they got their historical facts so correct that they will aid in the reconstruction of Notre Dame cathedral by offering the data they have scanned of the real thing for Unity.

Or how they offer a free educational mode DLC for Origins and Odyssey.

Those costs per day must be based on a month minimum which few working people can do.

The plane ticket and hotel package I got to Saigon was just over $2k for 2 weeks and that was a budget package. Then food, travel, and entertainment expenses once there. For an average vacation you're looking at close to $200 per day being conservative with spending at any of those places unless you can teleport there. If only staying for a week even more per day.

Try going off the beaten path and avoid the known tourist traps ? As an example, Gaijin Tax is a known thing in Japan.

The Japanese really don't like raising prices on anything.

Only reasonable since wages for the natives had remained stagnant too for about 30 years and their economy had been living on their past glory on borrowed time as a whole.

What happened with Japan now is only because of the current perfect blending International storm that resulted in a reckoning.
