One thing these Poirot movies will always have over the Knives Out ones is the time period and setting. I love the old school stuff.

I'm one of those weirdos that absolutely loves these new movies. They get a lot of hate but to me they're so cool imo. Yes, I've seen the old ones, and I like those too. These new movies have such grandeur and spectacle though!

And I really like the guy who plays Poirot. And his mustache.

I beat the first game, im now going back and beating all the other choice battles they let you do after you finish. Not gonna bother trying to get S ranks on everything or beating all the war room maps and whatnot. Gonna move on to part 2 soon.

Man Blizzard Battle was HARD AS FUCK. I remember eventually the game got super hard but I don't remember it happening this early. It's the map where the first to 12 captured cities wins, and you are so overwhelmed it's ridiculous. I barely scrapped by.

I always had a huge crush on Nebula. She's so angry and I like that.

Beat the first 4 or 5 levels. Its great! Nostalgic and fun.

I always liked this game more than Fire Emblem games because the difficulty is geared around the fact that you will lose some units and thats okay. In FE, there is perma death, but even if there's an option to turn it off, then it becomes too easy because the difficulty is tweaked around there being perma death.

I am! What time is it playable digitally? Is it getting a midnight release, so 11 pm central?

When I was young and played this game when it came out, I thought this guy had a big ol belly. Like a skinny fat guy.

I looked at the pic you posted now and instantly saw him for what he is, skinny guy opening his coat.

It looked like his belly!

Is the entire movie as good? It doesn't look as funny but looks like it has some legit cool fight scenes.

And it's every bit as glorious as I remember. The lines, the moves, the facial expressions. Man, the bad guy's moves are pure, golden comedy. It's perfection. The creaking, the head movements. So good. Forcing the food into his mouth, "that roast pork is very tasty". "Delicious!"

I got most the details right, too. The bad guy isn't quite as hideous as I remember him being, though. I remember him looking more zombie like. And I was right about the hump getting punched through his body!

Yep, when I first moved out on my owned I signed up for the DVD service. It was great watching tons of movies I always wanted to watch. Their library via DVD was much, much larger than their streaming. They basically had everything you could want. I remember ordering Cannibal Holocaust and feeling so dirty and underground, lol.

Firstly, I know Ive seen a movie where someone has a hump that gets pushed from back to front. I just cant remember what it was.

My first thought with such silliness was that it could be one of the Yuen clan movies like Shaolin Drunkard or Miracle Fighters. I cant seem to find a chopstick fight scene, though.

Hmm. I'm not sure actually. FF Redux is right. These are common tropes in kung fu movies, so it's like a scene an AI would make. It sounds like Lau Kar Leung schtick.

Could it be this scene from Dirty Ho? They keep trying to kill each other while pretending to be cordial. A lot of what you mentioned isn't here, but maybe you're conflating different movies. I know I've done that. The pale eunuch villain is super common in these movies.

That's not it, although good try. It started out with those kind of antics until becoming a full blown fight.

But I did unlock a new detail in my memory! The villain CREAKED. As in, every single movement he made was like a creaking, cracking movement, like his bones were all fused or something. And the fighting was VERY choreographed. Like, one two one two, they would make really obvious start stop movements, and every one would be a loud creaking from the villain.

they're not the "antagonists" per se, but "Spiritual Kung Fu" starring Jackie Chan features some spirits with white skin and long pink hair that cause some mischief, and Jackie Chan's character does fight them

The white faced guy in this scene is super comedic and hams it up. It comes off as pure comedy.

Good scene, but that's not it. The one I'm thinking of involves far less skill, and far more cheesiness. The movements are much slower and goofier, and make louder sound effects. It almost comes off like that Waynes World satire fight scene or something.

I THINK the villain had a hump in the FRONT of his torso, and it gets punched to his back? I might be misremembering this detail, or it might be from a different goofy movie, I dunno.

The villain was REALLY pale, like he was painted white, not just a generic white haired due. And they were fighting with chopsticks over a dumping or something.

It was way back from the 70s, those hilarious ones that were over the top with super exaggerated movements, and the sound effects were like blocks slamming together.

The main scene I remember was the hero and the villain sitting down for tea. The villain is super distinctive because he's a super pale guy. Like, painted white, basically. Like he's a zombie or something. They pretend to be cordial, but then they start fighting with chop sticks.

The hero is like, "You!?!"

And then the villain is like "ah, hah hah hah, but I was only getting a fly!" and it zooms in on the fly in his chopsticks.

The fight escalates from there and there are all kinds of wacky antics. I think the villain has a hump? And it gets punched in and out of his body or something?

It's an amazing fight scene and it would behoove CE to help me remember the name of the movie so other people can enjoy it.

I got the right pills, but the label was wrong, it was for another medication.

Luckily in my case it's not a big deal, but that is a massive fuck up. My nurse friends are amazed. This could kill a person, and also be a fire-able offense. I've been taking these for a while so I knew right away, but imagine if you just started on some medication, and the label said to take three a day, but that's the wrong label, and taking three of your pills a day could kill you.

I bought the OG release and beat the boss but quit there.

I just recently double dipped with the special edition, for the sole purpose of playing it 100% in 2d mode.

It is MUCH better imo. Call me wierd, but these 3d games aren't Dragon Quest to me. 8 and 11, could never get into them. They didn't hit me in the nostalgia balls. But playing it in 2d mode? It actually works. The crazy sons of bitches actually did it.

It plays so much faster. I feel like I'm going through the game at double speed. And that is a GOOD thing.

It feels a bit harder, too. Not sure why. I remember sleeping through the original in 3d mode. 2d mode feels like you gotta put in slightly more effort.

But despite all I said, I still don't think 11 is as good as the old school games. There's just too much story, the towns are too big, too many NPCs to talk to, too much running around and dialgoue.

To me, 3 and 4 are the definitive DQ experiences. Pure monster farming goodness. I await the DQ3 remake with great eagerness.

Yeah I've noticed this for a while now. I'm all for varied casting and I dont care when black people are cast in traditionally white parts. Like I dont give a damn if Ariel is black or whatever. But it is honestly kinda bizarre how red headed characters specifically seem to be targeted for a change up in looks. Like its gotten to the point where it its honestly just kinda wierd.
