Also, it's good to include diverse characters in media because real people are diverse, and people of all ethnicities and gender identities should have representation. Fiction should reflect reality, not pander to cishet white men who get pissed when minorities appear in media.

I was generalizing. It's mostly men who do this. Furthermore, men hold disproportionate power in society and thus need to be held accountable more.

Being woke just means being aware of societal injustice. Martin Luther King Jr. was extremely woke. Malcom X was extremely woke. Slavery abolitionists were extremely woke. Women's Suffragists were extremely woke. Gay Marriage advocates are extremely woke.

If you even perceive being woke as negative, you hold regressive views on advocacy for civil rights. The fight for civil rights is far from over, if it even can end.

If you see a black person say that systematic racism still exists, and you get reflexively angry at that black person, ask yourself: Why are you so mad? Don't you want systemic racism to end? Why not listen to people from marginalized communities and take them at their word?

Don't be a man-child who gets upset at people who advocate for a better world.

There should be an imposed wealth cap of $10, 000, 000. It's bad and harmful to allow individuals to become excessively powerful. We also need massive changes to the way the US government operates such that individual politicians are less powerful.

What are we going to do with criminals instead exile them?

A few points:

• It's the government that defines who is and isn't a criminal. There are so many unjust laws on the books, and the government has historically criminalized nonviolent activities as a means to target minorities. In many cases, a person is only branded a criminal because a cop made up a bullshit reason to arrest someone.
• For people who commit offenses that are unambiguously bad (murder, rape, abuse, assault), there are multiple different possible options: House Arrest & Ankle Monitors; Community Service, loss of certain privileges, mandatory rehabilitation.

What I'm hearing is that the violent crime rate doubles.

Also, did we finally figure out how to get these statistics reliably? I always read that we only get rough estimates because it's difficult to actually find out.
