Yeah, Sovereign was actually threatening. He made everyone feel small, and had indoctrinated a strong person like Saren to do his work. It took almost everything to take him out. They handled him well.
But that's kinda the problem: they made Sovereign such a huge threat, that they painted themselves into a corner when it came to Mass Effect 3.
