I'm just saying you're not losing customization by losing stats. You're just losing the illusion of customization.
And yeah I can't say I really like the overly flexible approach. I actually kinda liked the way the most recent patches of d2 did it. You can respec 3 times for free and can do a quest to get more-- to me that gave you flexibility but still made you consider choices. As it is now you can just like, change skills specifically for problem bosses and stuff. Sounds like a bad idea.
The problem with this is you're complaining that they gave you the OPTION to do something while still letting you do it the original way.
You can still play through with the same skill set as normal; now you're just given the choice to change it up on the fly if you want.
