If you mean 'everyone' as in trading Tidus for Rikku... then yeah there's a big difference.
The big difference is the majority of the banned people don't give a single crap about Final Fantasy and are basically just trolling. Plus, as witnessed, people like that tend to go out on limbs when they feel it is necessary such as what happened at the end of the last round we had. People that have no actual characters they want to see do well have nothing to lose and no real interest in the contest, meaning they are more prone to simply cause trouble by mass rallying or other types of annoying feats of strength.
