RIVAL sends out the Pokémon starter that is strong against yours! Unless you are Reg in which case he also SLEPT IN and got a Rattata lololol. If you are fighting as yourself then he sends out an Eevee.

Even if you lose this battle you will not Faint. Gym leader and rival battles will revive everyone after they are completed no matter what the outcome. The outcome won’t be good if you lose though.
