Bro, I have some bad news for you. Sequels aren't some new thing being perpetuated "by the system". Aren't there something like 13 Star Trek movies? A lot of them were made in the 60s through the 80s, just as one example. How many Rocky movies were there? Friday the 13th?
If a movie is good, go watch it. If a movie is not good, do not watch it, it's that simple. And if a movie is good enough to warrant a sequel, and that sequel is good?
