TopicI, much like Rammtay, find the "brony" trend unsettling.

I adore the show, but the brony phenomenon always struck me as EXTREMELY pretentious.

I've said this before, but Lauren Faust's goal was to create a cartoon that wasn't just a half hour toy commercial exclusively for little girls, but something that can be enjoyed by the parents who watch television with their children. She succeeded, and that's pretty obvious, but the whole "brony" thing kind of soils it. It's less about "I'm a fan of this show" and more about "I'm a teenaged/young adult male who enjoys cartoons for little girls and PROUD OF IT, HORSE POWER SO OPEN MINDED."

It goes beyond a fandom label. Anyone can be a Twihard or a Pott Head. (Or however many Ts they include, I don't know) It takes a very specific criteria to be considered a brony.
