I dunno, he seems to care more about Meeko right now than he does Stitch.
It's a front. I expected him to lower Lampy in his priorities as soon as Kirby fell but that was not the case, so that's gotta be his new #1. Meeko has fallen in his priorities because he knows Stitch has the better chance there. Bank on it! ;D
