26 is great because it allows for a perfect mix of standalone character development/fun episodes and main-story-arc episodes - by the time you transition into pure story-arc, you're missing the standalones, and in the end you want more

Fair enough though, yeah.
Outlaw Star though, it really felt to me like it should have had a second season with another antagonist or something. That ending sequence just makes me feel like that through and through. Obviously, not as much with Trigun and especially Bebop.
