Top 5 (In terms of consistency)
01. Metal Gear
02. Resident Evil
03. The Legend of Zelda
04. Uncharted
05. Ratchet & Clank

Top 5 (series bomber included in ( ))
01. Final Fantasy (2, 11, 13, 14 and 12 are all below par in terms of FF quality)
02. Metal Gear (none)
03. Resident Evil (none but needs new ideas)
04. Suikoden (4 bombed mercilessly, otherwise Suikoden would be in the top 5 in terms of consistency)
05. Persona (1 - almost unplayable, 2 - incomparable to P3 and P4, anyone saying otherwise is just fooling themselves)

Top 5 series run to the ground
01. Spyro the Dragon (Insomniac's sacrificial goat or rather sheep for R&C)
02. Crash Bandicoot (Naughty Dog's sacrificial goat for Jak and eventually Uncharted)
03. Mega Man (No new innovations, merely average and beaten to death mechanics)
04. Mana Series (Haven't played even a decent Mana game since Legend of Mana)
05. Final Fantasy (What was once the undisputed best series in video games is fiddling with mediocrity (FF11,13 and 14) and merely 'good' games (FF12)

- FF6-FF10 is what I'd call the highest point in not just the series but gaming itself.
- Ever since Metal Gear turned Metal Gear Solid, the series has all produced atleast 9/10 games
- Most improved series: Resident Evil after the release of the 4th installment
- Undisputed best JRPGs after FF10, SMT: Persona 4 followed by Persona 3
- IMO only 2 Zelda games have reached the heights of best game ever material: Skyward Sword and Majora's Mask.
- Uncharted is this generation's most consistent series IMO
- Ratchet & Clank may be Sony's most consistent series if you exclude the horrible Size Matters on PSP
