79. Final Fantasy V: Low Tech Son - Clash on the Big Bridge
Nominated by: FL81
This is a jazz version of Clash on the Big Bridge. On paper it sounds like a great idea - I love Clash on the Big Bridge, and jazz is neat. But I just don't like it very much. It sounds 'off', like it was made by a not-particularly-skilled remixer or something. The samples are a bit grating, and it times the jazzed-up (heh heh heh) melody doesn't work very well. It's not terrible, but it could have been done better. Maybe someone else here will appreciate it more than me.
78. Fate/Stay Night: Emiya -Faith/Denial-
Nominated by: dethfdddddh
This song exemplifies a lot of my general problems with remixes. For reference, this is Emiya:
This song is not Emiya. It is a 7-minute long trance song that very occasionally has a few recognizable notes from Emiya. If you're going to make the song so completely different from the original, you might as well just make it an original song and call it a day. I would forgive this if it was a good song, but it really isn't. It's generic and mildly annoying trance.
I think this song realizes it's not Emiya, because it does the 'awkward lyrics that are really talking' thing and forces in the Unlimited Blade Works poem from FSN, and it's just terribly implemented.

Black Turtle did a pretty good job.
