This song has taught me why top 40 crap really isn't so bad. I always used to think it was crazy that radio stations could play the same 20 mostly terrible songs over and over for months on end, but I think it's because songs this empty are just easier to listen to a million times in succession. I was honestly amazed at how little "substabce" the song has the first time I heard it. Basically no redeeming qualities other than those euphoric synths during the chorus... but as the months went by, I didn't enjoy it any less. It maintained the same level of "meh". While a song that I actually liked that clearly wasn't made for top 40 radio (Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know) annoys the absolute hell out of me everytime it comes on these days.
Although I still enjoy Kimbra's verse.
But if we're talking about songs featuring girls who want some dude to call them, it's all about Karmin's Brokenhearted. Top-tier tune that one is.
