With the way Capcom rolls they don't rely on anchors unless it's Resident Evil. They refuse to make a new Mega Man X game because of how badly X7 and Command Mission bombed even through those games are nearly a decade old, and they killed their fighting games in the early 2000's because of the CPS3 even through SFA3, CvS2 and MvC 1/2 were extremely popular games.
SFxT could end up the game that causes the next fighting game crash, Capcom had high expectations and a long life planned (just look at how much focus they put on the Vita version which is still months away) but the game died in 3 months, and they hate when something major bombs.
