Nah, my mom's a vegetarian. Had more to do with the climate and scenery. Less humidity as well as more moderate summers and winters were both much appreciated. The lack of possibility of tornadoes was huge too; my dad had a tornado destroy a huge portion of his town when he was a kid. And the variety of greenery and landscape in Western Washington is beautiful, particularly compared to the flatness of Iowa and all its corn fields. You're definitely not going to find an abundance of mountains to climb and trails to walk or an ocean to swim in anywhere near Iowa.
